As someone who has spent years immersed in the rich tapestry of Indian cinema and gastronomy, it was a truly unique and enchanting experience to witness Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and the team behind Laapataa Ladies (Lost Ladies) at Vikas Khanna’s Michelin-starred restaurant. The friendly competition between Aamir and Mysha Rizvi in the ‘best sheermal’ contest added a delightful spark to an already captivating evening.
As an ardent admirer of the incredible Aamir Khan, I’m thrilled to share that our beloved star and his brilliant collaborator Kiran Rao are immersed in an Oscar campaign for their masterpiece, “Laapataa Ladies” (Lost Ladies), across the US. To further amplify this cinematic marvel, globally acclaimed Indian chef Vikas Khanna graciously invited them and the entire film team to his esteemed New York restaurant. In a recent heartwarming video from the event, Aamir Khan himself joined in a friendly ‘best sheermal’ competition – an experience that left us all on the edge of our seats!
On his Instagram account, Vikas Khanna posted a touching video of Zaira Wasim preparing sheermal, a sweet and delicate flatbread from Mughlai cuisine, despite her limited culinary experience. Intriguingly, the Dangal actress executed the task flawlessly. This cooking challenge generated an exhilarating atmosphere in the Michelin-starred restaurant.
