Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey is preparing to play the lead in a touching love tale titled Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, alongside newcomer Shanaya Kapoor. Interestingly, Shanaya didn’t originally get the part; instead, Tara Sutaria and Pratibha Ranta were initially considered for the role by director Santosh Singh. In a chat with Mid-day, director Santosh Singh shared that Tara Sutaria and Pratibha Ranta were initially thought of for the main part in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. However, their schedules didn’t align well. After testing Shanaya, she proved to be an excellent fit for the role.
Additionally, it was noted that Shanaya Kapoor attended a series of workshops for about four months and collaborated extensively with an acting tutor. When filming started, she had already committed the script to memory.
Santosh Singh, who collaborated with Vikrant Massey on the 2018 web series “Broken…But Beautiful,” disclosed that he cast the actor in “Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan” to present him in a heartfelt, sorrowful love story. He further mentioned that Vikrant had expressed that many filmmakers were proposing intense roles such as those in “12th Fail” or villainous parts like “Sector 36.” Nevertheless, Santosh perceives him as a romantic lead character instead.
The movie titled “Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan” was crafted by director Santosh Singh and scriptwriters Niranjan Iyengar and Mansi Bagla. This film centers on a heartwarming love story between two characters who are visually impaired, highlighting the struggles and charm they encounter in their lives.
The heartfelt nature of the movie is skillfully matched with the moving melodies composed by Vishal Mishra, making the narrative even more profound. This production, spearheaded by Mansi and Varun Bagla under Mini Films, promises to bring a deeper emotional resonance through Vishal Mishra’s soulful compositions. It is scheduled for release in theaters on July 11, 2025.
In terms of his professional endeavors, Vikrant Massey is set to appear in a future project helmed by directors Siddharth Anand and Mahaveer Jain.
