As a seasoned gamer and a long-time fan of the superhero genre, I must admit that the upcoming Kraven movie has piqued my interest, especially after learning about Aaron Taylor-Johnson‘s grueling preparation for the role. The man is absolutely shredded, and it shows in every frame of the trailers!
The superhero genre continues to be a powerful force in the entertainment industry, with a number of shared universes in play. That includes Sony’s Spider-Man universe… which is notably missing the actual web slinger. The next of these projects is the Kraven movie, which is led by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. He got fit AF for the role, but Taylor-Johnson revealed how long it took (and please do not sign me up).
It’s well-established that we are familiar with Kraven the Hunter, but there’s no denying Aaron Taylor-Johnson was incredibly muscular for his portrayal. The trailers make it clear that he showcases his abs extensively, and it’s evident that the 34-year-old actor dedicated himself to achieving this physique. In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he discussed the rigorous process behind his transformation.
For a span of 6 months, I underwent intensive training guided by an exceptional coach, and my dietary regimen was quite diverse, though I missed out on many indulgences, mainly pasta, pizza, and alcohol for the past 2 years. I abstained from consuming any of these during this period.
Discussing dedication: Regardless of the challenges involved, taking on the lead role in Kraven the Hunter was undoubtedly demanding. However, what truly stands out is Taylor-Johnson’s discipline in abstaining from carbs and alcohol for a full two years. This level of commitment might just be why his physique in the promotional materials for the upcoming Marvel film appears so impressively toned.
Longtime followers of Aaron Taylor-Johnson have long admired his muscular physique, dating back to his breakout role in the Kick-Ass series. However, his fitness for Kraven is exceptional, lending the character a formidable physical presence in the glimpses we’ve seen so far. During a recent interview, the actor from The Fall Guy disclosed what happened when his years-long diet came to an end, explaining:
Initially, I indulged in a delicious pizza that filled my meal, not just a slice but an entire pie. Later, we ventured into a cozy pub and savored a perfectly drafted beer with a magnificent frothy head, served ice-cold to perfection. It was undeniably the most exquisite taste I’ve ever encountered.
Are you finding yourself all of a sudden longing for pizza and beer too? It appears that Aaron Taylor-Johnson must have been in the same situation, and I can’t help but wonder about the excitement he felt when he finally succumbed to those desires.
It’s yet to be determined if the extensive effort put into the role will reflect positively on the actor’s performance in “Kraven the Hunter.” The brief glimpses suggest a formidable presence, one that seems ready for gruesome R-rated action. It might even be beneficial that Spider-Man is absent from the movie, as Peter Parker would probably have suffered severe injuries otherwise.
As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but feel the weight of anticipation as Kraven the Hunter gears up for his big-screen debut. The recent lackluster performances of projects like Morbius and Madame Web have certainly set the bar low. However, we’ll soon see if he can rise above the expectations when he hits theaters on December 13th. In the meantime, keep an eye on the movie release dates for 2025 to stay updated!
