Abhishek Bachchan reveals real reason for showing off potbellied look in I Want To Talk and not showing abs in Dhoom; Find out

As a long-time admirer of Abhishek Bachchan‘s versatility and dedication to his craft, I must say that his latest transformation for Shoojit Sircar’s I Want To Talk has left me in awe. His decision to embrace his potbellied avatar, despite the temptation to show off his abs, speaks volumes about his commitment to his roles and his ability to shed vanity when needed.

Abhishek Bachchan is currently basking in the success of Shootjit Sircar’s movie titled “I Want To Talk.” In this everyday life-based film, his remarkable body transformation left everyone astonished. Lately, the actor shared the reasons behind displaying his paunchy character, as opposed to his chiseled abs seen in Dhoom.

In an engaging chat with Galatta Plus, I found myself in the fortunate position of discussing filmmaking with the remarkable Abhishek Bachchan. He candidly confessed that the actor’s pride in his craft is indeed a significant aspect of cinema, yet he passionately believed it was this very vanity that led Shoojit Sircar to cast him for the role. With a sense of relief and excitement, I shared my personal journey of setting aside my own vanities, drawing upon examples from past projects like Guru, Big Bull, and Bob Biswas where I embraced carrying a larger stomach on screen.

Abhishek confidently discarded his reservations, openly stating that if you fit the image, why not embrace it? Additionally, he recalled instantly accepting Shoojit Sircar’s suggestion during their conversation about giving him a potbelly for the movie role offered to him.

The actor from “I Want To Talk” expressed that he agreed to take on the role due to the character’s necessity for him, and he trusted that Sircar would execute it artistically and uniquely. He elaborated by saying that he bared his stomach in “I Want To Talk” and “Guru,” but not in “Dhoom.

In the scene, it was decided that ACP Jai Dixit, being a tough character, wouldn’t be seen shirtless. Instead, he would wear a vest. He doesn’t have to bare his body to demonstrate his power. This was my understanding. Not everyone may grasp this, but I need to comprehend it to accurately portray it in the script. He explained this.

Bachchan referred to a scene from the movie “I Want To Talk” where he appeared in his undergarments, and Sircar inquired about his comfort level. He explained that it’s natural to wear underwear or a robe at home, and he found it satisfying to depict this aspect of the character within the given circumstances.

Under the direction of Shoojit Sircar, the movie titled “I Want To Talk” hit the big screens on November 22, 2024. Key performers in this production include Pearle Dey, Ahilya Bambroo, Jayant Kripalani, Kristin Goddard, and Johny Lever. At present, the film is still showing in theaters.
