As a die-hard DC Universe fan, I’m eagerly waiting for the casting announcement of the upcoming Batman character. Although it seems like we’re still a ways off, there are several talented actors being tossed around as potential candidates. Some of these whispers will undoubtedly prove to be baseless, but among them could very well be the individual who’ll share the screen with David Corenswet’s Superman and other DC legends in James Gunn’s future franchise. If I had my wish, it would be me donning the cape and cowl! Recently, during an interview with ScreenRant about his new film Drop, the actor addressed speculation surrounding his possible involvement as the Dark Knight.
Let’s continue exploring this idea as if we were Batman! This is something I’ve dreamt of doing since my childhood, a secret ambition never shared before. It just seems to be unfolding naturally, and when it began, I thought, ‘This is exciting!’ Perhaps, one day, it might become reality.
I’m thrilled at the prospect! Performing such an act has been a cherished dream since my childhood, particularly emulating that specific character. If given a chance to delve into the realm of superheroes, that’s undoubtedly the role I’d choose.
Absolutely, Sklenar is simply one of several talented actors who might be under consideration for the role of Bruce Wayne in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s plans. This character could potentially join the ranks of those portraying the Caped Crusader alongside Robert Pattinson within the Batman universe.
Who Will Play Batman in the DCU?
Similar to the persistent whispers about who might take up the role of the next James Bond, each week brings new speculation regarding potential actors being considered for Batman in The Brave and the Bold. However, it’s essential to note that, as stated by James Gunn, no casting decisions have been made yet. The rumors circulating online are simply that – rumors.
People continue to enthusiastically theorize about who might assume the role of Gotham’s guardian next. Sklenar has long been a contender for the position, and he previously expressed interest in the role back in February, reiterating similar sentiments. During that period, he stated:
As a kid, the character of Batman from comic books has always held a special place in my heart, and if I were to admit it, deep down I’ve harbored the secret aspiration of becoming him. It’s not an ambition I like to share openly.
Initially, I found myself admiring the fan art and thought, “Wow, this is intriguing! It seems logical and well-aligned.” In a way, it reminded me of Spencer Dutton, as there are many similarities between such characters. If given the chance, I believe I would excel in that role and eagerly take it on if offered. I’d jump at the opportunity to do so.
Alan Ritchson, famously known for his role as Reacher, is another actor often suggested for the role of Batman. His muscular build, reminiscent of a beefy Batman in the animated series Creature Commandos, has led many to believe he could excel in the part. Similar to Sklenar, Ritchson has expressed interest in donning the Batsuit. However, whether either actor will take on the role remains uncertain – even for those who claim to have insider knowledge, it’s all speculation at this point. For now, we can only indulge in our guesses and wait for more concrete information.
