Acura has declared that the RSX moniker is making a comeback, signaling a fresh chapter in their history as they reveal their initial electric vehicle (EV), constructed using Honda’s EV architecture. This model, known as the all-electric Acura RSX, draws inspiration from the Acura Performance EV Concept and showcases a streamlined, coupe-like shape with contemporary technology.
At CES 2025, Honda will launch their advanced ASIMO OS system, initially presented at that event, in their pioneering electric vehicle (EV) – the RSX – which will be the first model to come off the assembly line at Honda’s EV Production Hub located in Ohio. This cutting-edge manufacturing site, undergoing significant renovations, aspires to establish a worldwide benchmark for sustainable and adaptable production, capable of producing internal combustion engines, hybrid vehicles, and battery electric vehicles on a single production line.
This week marked the commencement of real-world trials for the RSX model’s prototype, where the vehicles are adorned with a unique camouflage created by Acura Design team. This dynamic camouflage accentuates the SUV’s outline, symbolizing power, tranquility, and ingenuity.
Mike Langel, Assistant Vice President of Acura National Sales, stated that the RSX nameplate makes its comeback with our upcoming electric vehicle (EV), demonstrating Acura’s dedication to an exciting driving experience in the future. As our second electric SUV, it enhances our existing gas-powered lineup, reinforcing Acura’s position as a preferred brand.
Next spring, I’m pumped to be part of the excitement as Acura introduces the 2025 ADX – a premium compact SUV with a turbocharged engine that’s sure to catch the eyes of many new buyers! However, they haven’t disclosed the pricing or availability details for this model and its other upcoming offering just yet. So, I’ll have to wait and see!
