As a movie enthusiast who has spent countless hours in the dimly lit theaters of yesteryears, reminiscing about the golden age of cinema, I must say that the announcement of “Happy Gilmore 2” has me grinning from ear to ear like Chubbs Peterson after a particularly satisfying swing.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve dedicated considerable attention to revisiting the films of 2024, reminiscing about our top picks from that year. However, it’s equally important to cast our gaze forward and see what exciting offerings are in store for us. There’s plenty to look forward to! Besides several highly anticipated big-screen movies slated for release on the 2025 cinema schedule, there’s also a wealth of notable streaming titles to keep an eye out for – such as Happy Gilmore 2, a sneak peek of which we received today.
Today marks the concurrent celebration of Christmas and Chanukah, and in this festive spirit, Adam Sandler has treated fans everywhere by sharing a special sneak peek at the upcoming sequel to one of his most beloved films. He posted the trailer, as shown above, on his personal Twitter account, accompanied by the following message:
Happy Chanukah! Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! And Happy Gilmore to all!!!!!!
From the brief glimpse we get in this trailer, we don’t find out the specific plot details for Happy Gilmore 2 (as Adam Sandler hinted that Happy’s life might be in disarray). It also doesn’t provide a definite release date other than it coming out in 2025. However, what it does offer is a sneak peek at several well-known figures, leaving us curious about how they will contribute to the storyline. This includes some celebrity appearances, such as Travis Kelce portraying a waiter.
And Bad Bunny as Happy Gilmore’s caddy (though what’s up with the bowtie?):
In the upcoming movie “Happy Gilmore 2”, it was expected that there would be celebrity appearances. However, what truly sets this holiday preview apart is the unveiling of some key returning characters. Although we’re not privy to the specifics about Happy Gilmore’s relationships when the story resumes, it seems he maintains a good relationship with Julie Bowen’s character Virginia Venit (whether they are still together remains uncertain). The trailer also hints that Happy and Christopher McDonald’s Shooter McGavin have yet to form a friendship. It’s worth noting that Shooter is seen in a cemetery wearing blue pajamas, which adds another layer of mystery as to why the antagonist from “Happy Gilmore” is there, posing numerous questions independent of the rest of the footage.
In 2025, we can look forward to the release of Happy Gilmore 2, which will only be available for Netflix subscribers initially, much like other recent Adam Sandler productions. While details on this upcoming comedy are scarce at present, we at TopMob are eagerly awaiting more information about the movie in the coming months. Keep an eye out for our updates!
