As a film critic with a penchant for nostalgia and a soft spot for Adam Sandler‘s comedic antics, I must say the release of the teaser for ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ on Netflix feels like Christmas came early! For many of us who grew up in the ’90s, Happy Gilmore was more than just a movie; it was a cultural phenomenon that brought joy and laughter to our lives.
Netflix has delivered a delightful Christmas surprise to fans by unveiling the first sneak peek at “Happy Gilmore 2,” the eagerly awaited follow-up film in the series. This long-awaited legacy sequel was once thought impossible, but with Adam Sandler’s successful partnership with Netflix, enthusiasts will finally get their wish come true.
In the original plot summary for Happy Gilmore 2, it’s been disclosed that the long-standing feud between Happy Gilmore and Shooter McGavin persists after more than two decades. This time around, Happy is seen grooming a rebellious young golf prodigy in preparation for an upcoming competition. Upon learning of this development, Shooter McGavin decides to mentor his own protege as well.
The next installment hasn’t set a definite launch date as of now, however, Sandler hinted at its potential arrival in the April/May 2025 timeframe, and only on Netflix streaming platform.
