As a long-time admirer of Adam Sandler‘s comedic genius, I must say, this news has me all “100% Fresh” and “Happy Gilmore”-ing! The man never fails to crack me up, whether it’s his hilarious movies or his unforgettable stand-up acts.
Adam Sandler is teaming up with Josh Safdie, his co-director from ‘Uncut Gems’, but this time not for a film. Instead, Safdie will direct Sandler’s forthcoming comedy special on Netflix.
Under the title “Love You“, this upcoming stand-up performance represents the actor’s first TV comedy special since 2018’s “100% Fresh”. A teaser for “Love You” hints at Sandler continuing to play the guitar during his act.
In another video, he casually mentions, “Indeed, that’s right. I tend to chat quite a bit, then I perform some singing, and afterward, we get up to all sorts of things.” He can be seen wearing a hoodie over a Hawaiian shirt. Subsequently, he dedicates his next guitar performance to someone in the audience.
Sandler, Safdie, Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush, Dan Bulla, Carter Hambley, Brian Robinson, Joseph Vecsey, Judit Maull, Eli Thomas, and Perry Sachs collaborated on the creation of this unique production. Barry Bernardi, Robert Digby, and John Irwin served as executive producers for the project.
Adam Sandler’s Love You premieres on Netflix on August 27.
