As a gamer with a penchant for immersive experiences and a soft spot for innovative design, stepping into the reimagined ADER Seongsu Space feels like stumbling upon a level upgrade in a game of life. The fusion of ethereal art installations, futuristic store fixtures, and the technicolor sea turtle guide is reminiscent of an NPC companion in a sci-fi RPG, leading me through this fantastical realm.
To mark its 10-year milestone, ADERERROR has given its main store, ADER Seongsu Space in Seoul, South Korea, a facelift. The revamped shop embodies the concept ‘FUTOURIST: Imagination constructs a new world’ through its flowing interior design that features otherworldly art installations and advanced retail fixtures spread over two levels.
A vibrant, sea turtle-shaped symbol serves as our guiding figure, illuminating ADERERROR’s journey towards the future. Suspended high above, a sculpture in the form of a black creature with a transparent carapace filled with multi-colored globes graces the ceiling.
In various parts of the cosmos, identical orbs can be spotted, even inside dressing rooms. These orbs come equipped with hooks that serve dual purposes: providing functionality and acting as lighting displays that bathe the area in ambiance. The interior design leans heavily on glass and chrome materials, mirroring ADERERROR’s progressive mindset. Scattered throughout the establishment, one can find understated touches of neutral fabrics and bursts of vibrant neon hues. In stark contrast to the main area, a dimly lit passageway showcases a dynamic display, where moving forms emerge from behind a fabric veil, suggesting the birth of creativity.
