Adidas is planning to bring back the BW Army Lux, a design inspired by military style, with a color scheme called “Dust Sand”. This affordable yet sophisticated shoe aims to provide a more accessible alternative to high-end military replicas. The $120 USD sneaker exudes an authentic vintage vibe due to its selection of colors and materials.

The classic shape of sneakers issued to soldiers is highly favored by designers like Maison Margiela, Dior, and Hender Scheme. However, Adidas was producing this design much earlier, providing the original version to German forces throughout the 70s. Therefore, you won’t find a more authentic pair than Adidas’s model.

The upper part of these shoes is primarily made from a cracked, yellowish-beige leather that mimics an aged patina. A smooth leather layer provides texture variation throughout the shoe, excluding the typical three stripes seen on other vintage Adidas models such as the Samba, Gazelle, and Superstar. To enhance the antique vibe, the shoes rest on traditional rubber soles with a color that harmonizes well with the “Dust Sand” tone on the upper. At the toe box, a T-shaped overlay made from soft suede offers more textural contrast. Finally, the tongue features raw leather edges and a subtly embossed Adidas Originals logo.
