Aditya Roy Kapur REACTS to question of being 'commitment phobic': 'You have to feel compelled to get into...'

As an ardent fan of Aditya Roy Kapur, I have always admired his acting prowess and charisma. But it was his recent confession about his personal life that truly endeared him to me even more. In a world where commitment phobia seems to be the norm among celebrities, Aditya stands out as a breath of fresh air.

Bollywood actor Aditya Roy Kapur, famed for his charisma, has spoken candidly about his personal life on a talk show. In discussing the subject of commitment, he clarified that he’s not afraid of commitment, but instead emphasized his past long-term relationships during his youth. Aditya stated that being in a relationship is driven by a genuine wish and a strong connection, rather than simply a fear of solitude.

In a chat with Kareena Kapoor Khan on her show “What Women Want”, Aditya Roy Kapur openly discussed the question of him being afraid of commitment. Looking back at his romantic history, he firmly denied being commitment-phobic, revealing that he had sustained long-term relationships in his earlier years, some even lasting for multiple years. He asserted that his past relationships demonstrate his willingness to embrace commitment.

In simpler terms, the actor from The Night Manager stated, “I don’t consider myself as someone who avoids long-term commitments because I had relationships that lasted for several years in my past, such as a five-year one and a three-year one. So, I wouldn’t describe myself as commitment-phobic.

Aditya Roy Kapur shared that a relationship should stem from a genuine wish to be with another person, rather than as a means to escape solitude. In his words, “You need to be driven to connect with someone and feel strongly about it. It’s not just about filling the void of being alone.

He mentioned that he feels satisfied and capable of managing his emotions independently. Although he appreciates having love in his life, he pointed out that it provides a unique sense of completeness. He emphasized the importance of striking a balance between self-reliance and enjoying the happiness that comes from a loving connection.

On the career side of things, Aditya Roy Kapur is getting ready for his upcoming movie, Metro, which is being helmed by Anurag Basu. The film boasts an impressive lineup of actors such as Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Ali Fazal, Konkona Sen Sharma, and several others.

Previously planned for a September 13, 2024 premiere, the film “Metro… In Dino” has now been moved to open in cinemas on November 29, 2024.
