As a seasoned hiker with a penchant for unique footwear, I can’t help but be captivated by the Advisory Board Crystals (Abc.) x Diemme collaboration. The opal-filled hiking boots are an instant standout in my collection, with their fuzzy suede upper and kaleidoscopic cut-outs that sparkle like the very gems they emulate.
Following the launch of a revamped Merrell’s Hydro Moc design over the summer, LA brand Advisory Board Crystals (Abc.) has come back with another footwear creation – a hiking boot adorned with opal gemstones, produced in collaboration with Italian footwear specialist Diemme.
This striking shoe model features a soft suede upper adorned with intricate cut-outs that resemble kaleidoscopic patterns, creating a holographic effect reminiscent of precious opals. These vibrant accents contrast beautifully with the textured leather cuffs, shiny silver metal eyelets, robust nylon laces, a jelly-like opal footbed, and the distinctive pull tabs that are signature to ABc’s designs.
According to designers Remington Guest and Heather Haber from Abc, their aim was to give a distinctive touch to a well-known Diemme shape. They chose an earthy color scheme for the design, reminiscent of digging for opals, but also recognizable, similar to the traditional Timberland palette, creating an instant sense of familiarity.
