The Long Answer

Above is a table containing crucial details about every champion in AEW, along with their path to winning gold. For a deeper understanding of each champion’s background and future possibilities, explore the comprehensive analyses provided below.

AEW World Championship

Title Holder: Jon Moxley

In an impressive feat, Jon Moxley – a notable ex-WWE star now thriving in AEW – is in the midst of his unprecedented fourth term as the AEW World Champion, having vanquished his Blackpool Combat Club comrade Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream’s main event in October 2024. Over the past few years, Moxley has garnered immense popularity and multiple accolades within AEW. Moreover, his reign as the head of a formidable heel stable has earned him a reputation as one of the most intimidating figures in the wrestling world.

It’s not entirely unexpected that the new WWE Champion might lose to contenders such as Darby Allin or Orange Cassidy further into his reign, given their prominence at the end of the October 2024 pay-per-view, where they were both spotlighted as babyfaces.

AEW Women’s World Champion

Title Holder: Mariah May

As Toni Storm’s apprentice for quite a while, I stepped into the ring against my former mentor last August at All In London. To everyone’s surprise, I came out victorious, ending her 281-day reign as AEW Women’s World Champion. It was a proud moment when I became the tenth wrestler to hold this prestigious title since it was first introduced on the debut episode of AEW Dynamite back in October 2019.

It’s unlikely that May will suffer any losses, especially in championship bouts, for some time. But when she eventually does lose the title, it could very well be Willow Nightingale who steps up and takes it from her. This is based on their intense match at WrestleDream where they went toe-to-toe.

TBS Champion

Title Holder: Mercedes Moné

Mercedes Moné, previously known as Sasha Banks in WWE, has been causing quite a stir since joining AEW in early 2024. It didn’t take her long to secure the TBS Championship, the secondary women’s title, just a few months after making her appearance.

Despite Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.’s loss against Moné at All In 2024, there remains potential for further success in their ongoing feud when AEW chooses to revisit it. It may not happen immediately, but placing the belt on Baker following an impressive showdown with the TBS Champion could prove advantageous for all parties involved.

AEW World Tag Team Champions

Title Holders: Young Bucks

For nearly five years now, Young Bucks – specifically Matthew and Nicholas Jackson – have been unstoppable forces in the AEW tag team division, and they’ve demonstrated similar dominance across various promotions such as PWG and NJPW. Notably, they have successfully defended the AEW Tag Team Championship several times since their current reign started with Dynasty back in April 2024.

It’s quite enjoyable watching those deceitful siblings manipulate their way to success, but it won’t be long until somebody takes away their titles. When that moment arrives, there’s no one more fitting than FTR to reignite the epic saga of their rivalry and usher in a new chapter.

AEW International Champion

Title Holder: Konosuke Takeshita

2024 saw me (Konosuke Takeshita) making waves when I bested Will Ospreay, known for his 42 five-or-more-star matches, to snatch the AEW International Championship from the Aerial Assassin at WresleDream. As a rising wrestler and part of the Don Callis Family’s dark side, I’ve been shining brightly for a couple of years now, and this victory only cements my star potential.

As a gamer, I’d say: After Takeshita snatched the belt using some questionable tactics (his crew jumping in), it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Ospreay made a comeback and dethroned him to reclaim his title. Yet, if it’s not Ospreay, then perhaps the new kid on the block, Ricochet, will start racking up those belts instead.

TNT Champion

Title Holder: Jack Perry

Jack Perry, Luke Perry’s son, has been a captivating figure in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) ever since he was designated as one of the company’s key foundations in 2019. Although he’s ditched the “Jungle Boy” character for a more villainous role, Perry has been entertaining to watch, and his status as the TNT Champion only adds to the excitement.

After a triumphant title defense at WrestleDream, Perry was confronted by Daniel Garcia in an exhilarating segment that stole the show, setting the stage for their potential clash. This encounter could significantly boost Garcia’s reputation if he manages to dethrone the established champion, particularly as he ascends the wrestling ladder.

AEW World Trios Champions

Title Holders: Blackpool Combat Club

Since their victory over The Patriarchy, Bang Bang Gang, and House of Black in a ladder match at All In London in August 2024, the trio composed of Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Wheeler Yuta – all members of the Blackpool Combat Club – have been unstoppable as the AEW World Trios Champions.

Currently, AEW’s Best Friends (BCC) are ruling as the top stable and Jon Moxley is holding onto the World Championship. It’s plausible that this trio will maintain their champion status for a few more months at least. However, when they eventually lose the titles, The Acclaimed could be the ones to claim victory.

AEW Continental Champion

Title Holder: Kazuchika Okada

Kazuchika Okada, a five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion and long-term mainstay of NJPW, has held the AEW Continental Championship ever since he defeated Eddie Kingston in a March 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite. As part of The Elite, this wrestling world legend shows no signs of slowing down since joining the company.

While it’d be thrilling for Okada to retain his title for an additional day, surpassing his previous record by one day, it’s clear that he’ll ascend the ladder in wrestling sooner rather than later. If we’re brainstorming a wrestler with the talent to dethrone him, Kyle O’Reilly would be a strong contender.

However, just like other WWE Champions we’ve previously discussed, titles are frequently switched. Therefore, be sure to revisit our site regularly to stay updated on any new title switches.
