As a seasoned gamer with years of experience navigating through various dimensions and alternate realities, this latest announcement has sent my virtual adrenaline soaring! The Alpha Gang expansion is not just a game update; it’s a cinematic event that promises to blur the lines between reality and fiction.
The Alpha Gang just got a whole lot bigger.
An illustrious group of celebrities such as Dave Bautista, Channing Tatum, Steven Yeun, Zoë Kravitz, Léa Seydoux, and Riley Keough are teaming up with two-time Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett for the upcoming alien invasion comedy “Alpha Gang,” directed by the Zellner Brothers.
As a gamer immersed in an alternate reality, I find myself leading a pack of ’50s biker aliens, outfitted in sleek leather and rumbling engines, on a relentless quest to dominate Earth. However, our cold-hearted conquest is thrown off course when we stumble upon humankind’s most infectious quality: emotions. In this tale, Cate Blanchett assumes the role of Alpha One, our fearsome alien commander.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that my favorite upcoming project is generating quite a buzz among international film circles. This exciting title is set to be showcased next week at the American Film Market in Las Vegas. The esteemed mk2 Films, who previously produced the Oscar-winning “Anatomy of a Fall,” are managing its international sales. Meanwhile, CAA Media Finance will oversee the North American distribution rights. In fact, pre-sales for this film were initiated by mk2 at the Cannes market earlier this year, indicating a strong start to its global journey.
David Zellner and Nathan Zellner are riding high after the success of their quirky Big Foot comedy, “Sasquatch Sunset,” featuring Keough and Jesse Eisenberg in unrecognizable hairy costumes. Mike Gioulakis, who lensed “Sasquatch Sunset” and worked as a cinematographer on Jordan Peele’s “Us” and “Old,” directed by M. Night Shyamalan, will handle the camera work for the upcoming project.
The Zellners will create “Alpha Gang” in collaboration with ZBi, along with Cate Blanchett and Coco Francini through their company Dirty Films. Additional producers include Gina Gammell for Felix Culpa, Ryan Zacarias for Fat City, Mary Aloe for Aloe Entertainment, and Andrea Bucko for Sugar Rush Pictures. The executive producers are Sean Krajewski, Ronnie Exley, Lawrence Minicone, and Jeremy Ross from Rabbits Black, Tyler Peters and Sophie Curtis of Electric Void, and Tom Ogden, who is partnered with Aloe’s partners at Partners in Kind, Gillian Hormel and Shelly Tygielski.
