After A Race To Survive Contestant Went On A Hedgehog Killing Spree, He Busted Out The Most Adorable Cupcakes

As a dedicated gamer and avid reality TV fan, I’ve seen my fair share of survival shows. But nothing quite compares to the raw, unfiltered challenge that is “Race To Survive.” Unlike other competition shows that rely on discomfort and danger for entertainment value, this series pushes contestants to their absolute limits.

In simpler terms, while shows like “Survivor” and other popular reality competitions create challenges through discomfort and danger, the race “Race To Survive” takes things up a notch. Contestants are given only a map and instructed to race to a new location, which could be over a dozen miles away. They’re left without essentials like food or advanced navigation tools, forcing them to rely on their wits and survival skills – such as hunting hedgehogs for sustenance.

In the last episode of “Race To Survive,” my favorite duo, Paulina and Creighton, found themselves in a tricky situation. We were both famished and spotted hedgehogs nearby. In our desperation to eat, we resorted to taking down almost a dozen of these adorable creatures. The fallout from this decision was significant, with many voices on social media expressing their disapproval. However, the most delightful outcome came in the form of some exquisite cupcakes that Creighton later posted on Instagram. Gaze upon their beauty!

As a passionate gamer and avid follower of reality TV shows, I strongly recommend checking out “Race to Survive” on USA Network without any delay. We’re now in the second season, and this thrilling competition takes place in the breathtaking wilderness. Last year, the teams battled it out in Alaska, but this time they’ve moved on to the stunning landscapes of New Zealand. The teams consist of two adventurous individuals, each bringing unique skills to the table. For instance, there are expert white water rafting guides, smoke jumpers, and ultra marathon runners among them. So, if you’re into heart-pumping challenges, stunning scenery, and seeing everyday people push their limits, this show is a must-watch!

At the beginning of every leg, teams receive a map and essential information about the upcoming course. This information may include details such as a 6-mile trek through the bush, a 4-mile canoe ride, an hour-long rock climbing challenge, and additional 8 miles of navigating through the jungle. The team that arrives last is usually eliminated from the competition, while the teams that finish first receive a reward and an advantage when it comes to gathering food supplies.

During each stage of the competition, teams are allowed to obtain a food supply from a crate, but this provision seldom suffices to keep them well-fed. Consequently, those with strong appetites have to scavenge for their own meals. This is the reason behind numerous instances of teams catching eels, sheep, hedgehogs, and other edibles in the wild.

If you’ve ever pondered the question, hedgehogs don’t rank high on the list of delectable foods. Let me share with you an account from Creighton regarding his experiences attempting to prepare hedgehog meat for USA.

Making wild game palatable involves various techniques, but no amount of effort can make a hedgehog taste pleasant. Regardless of cooking it in eel fat or adding sea salt, its flavor remains unpleasant. However, the liver and kidney are delectable, providing exquisite tastes. The guts, on the other hand, serve an excellent purpose as eel bait – making them the most valuable part of a hedgehog for acquiring more meat.

As they approach the last episode in “Race To Survive,” Creighton and Paulina are sure to leave a lasting impression on viewers. Despite their decision to separate and divorce, they were asked to participate in the show during its final stages. Choosing to embark on this adventure together once more, we’ve enjoyed watching their contentious interactions as former spouses, but also observing their ability to lend support to each other as friends. Their dynamic beautifully conveys the depth of their love and the reasons behind their failed relationship.

Race To Survive airs on Monday nights on USA Network. You can also catch it on Peacock.
