After Blade Rumors Swirled, The Harder They Fall’s Director Weighed In On The Speculation

As a devoted Marvel fan who’s grown up with the thrilling escapades of Blade, I can’t help but feel a pang of anticipation and confusion about the upcoming reboot. The saga of the Daywalker has been a cornerstone of my comic-book-loving journey, and the prospect of Mahershala Ali donning the iconic vampire hunter’s trench coat is nothing short of electrifying.

The Marvel Cinemaverse continues expanding, be it in cinemas or through a Disney+ membership. There’s been quite a buzz about upcoming Marvel films that fans are eagerly anticipating, fueling online speculations. One of these highly-anticipated projects is the Blade movie starring Mahershala Ali. After whispers abounded, the director of The Harder They Fall addressed the rumors surrounding this project.

Information on the movie titled Blade is relatively scant due to numerous delays in its production, leaving fans wondering if it will ever see the light of day or if the studio will abandon the project entirely. However, there’s been buzz that filmmaker Jeymes Samuel, also known as The Bullitts, might be directing the project. To clarify matters, Samuel recently addressed this speculation on Twitter. In his words:

I don’t know where these rumors start, but I am not in talks to do Blade with Marvel. I love me the Daywalker tho, I cannot wait to watch that joint. Sidebar: When Blade 2 came out I prayed they would make: ‘WESLEY SNIPES/CHRISTOPHER LEE – BLADE III’ It didn’t happen sadly. 😢

Here it appears that Samuel won’t be directing the upcoming Blade film. The identity of the director remains unknown, but given the release date in November 2025, the studio must accelerate the production process to meet their target. We can only wait for further updates on this matter.

Despite Kevin Feige remaining hopeful about the upcoming Blade film, fans have been expressing concerns for some time due to the project’s tumultuous history. The movie has experienced several director changes, causing fans to question its progress. Additionally, although Mahershala Ali voiced Blade in the credits scene of Eternals, there are currently no plans for a sequel that would continue his storyline. Consequently, it remains unclear when or how the vampire protagonist will make his grand entrance on screen.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but ponder over the level of engagement audiences might show towards the latest Blade installment. For years, we’ve been captivated by the Marvel films, and Wesley Snipes’ trilogy remains etched in our memories. Not too long ago, he brilliantly reemerged in the role during Deadpool & Wolverine. Now, the question arises: will Snipes returning to the role enhance or complicate the new Blade movie, with Mahershala Ali stepping into the spotlight?

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but feel like a character waiting for the next big reveal in a game. Rumors about Jeymes Samuel directing Blade for the MCU have been squashed, leaving us all guessing who’ll be the one to bring this project to life on the silver screen. Marvel’s bosses, Kevin Feige and crew, must be working hard to seal the deal with a talented filmmaker soon, keeping us gamers on the edge of our seats!

Right now, it’s anticipated that the movie “Blade” will be screening in cinemas on November 7th, 2025. If you’d like to make plans for a cinema visit next year, take a look at the upcoming movie releases of 2025.
