Warning! Episode 14 of the current season 7 for the series FBI, titled “Hitched”, can now be streamed. You’ll need a Paramount+ membership to watch it.
In the 2025 TV lineup, following a short intermission, FBI resumed on CBS with an episode featuring OA taking on more solo missions than typical after his train with Gemma was hijacked. Though Maggie and the team were assisting from the outside as much as possible, it fell upon OA to halt the train and rescue his girlfriend who was losing blood. Zeeko Zaki shared insights with TopMob about executing action-packed sequences, and his remarks about the final scene with Maggie only reinforce my joy that FBI has already been renewed for Season 8.
Viewers are accustomed to witnessing OA in action after over 100 episodes spanning seven seasons, but pursuing him on a train is unlike any chase scene through New York City. Zaki discussed filming scenes set aboard a crowded train, a location noticeably more cramped than typical. The actor explained:
It was incredibly thrilling. The opportunity to engage in activities beyond our routine, such as riding that train, and emulating the action-packed scenes from movies set in restricted environments like airplanes and trains, was a blast. Not only that, but the talented stunt supervisor and crew made it feel effortless to assess and enhance the cool factor of each scene. It was an enjoyable experience overall.
Each week on shows like FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, and FBI: International, the action is often reminiscent of a movie. It’s fitting then that Zeeko Zaki had an opportunity to pay homage to action films with his train fights as OA. Luckily, OA managed to rescue all the hostages just in the nick of time and halt the train. However, Gemma found herself in grave danger when she was caught up in a hail of gunfire.
Through swift first aid using tea bags, tampons, and helpful strangers, Gemma managed to survive. This event led to a heartwarming moment between Comfort Clinton visiting Gemma in the hospital and Zeeko Zaki portraying OA, who was still visibly shaken at that time. The long-term cast member shared some insights into what his character might have been thinking during that critical scene:
In a more simplified manner, this dialogue could be rephrased as: We don’t notice much guilt but rather fear in him due to the current situation’s urgency. He has a lot to consider – not just Gemma, but all the other passengers too. He’s adept at separating these feelings and keeping his focus. The guilt does emerge towards the end, yet exploring different emotional aspects was an exciting part of the character portrayal.
In reality, the intense emotional moment between OA and Gemma wasn’t the last scene of the episode. Instead, it was Maggie who was present at the hospital, showing support for her partner during a challenging time. When OA shared his feelings about protecting Gemma, Maggie responded with a comforting hug, which served as a poignant reminder of why their partnership is so beloved on TV.
As a film critic, reflecting on the poignant finale of the movie, I couldn’t help but wonder what it signified to OA that Maggie was by his side during a particularly challenging day. Intrigued, I asked Zeeko Zaki about this emotional moment, and he elucidated:
“For OA, Maggie being there at the end of such a difficult day symbolized hope, resilience, and the unwavering bond they share. It was a testament to their connection, proving that no matter how trying the circumstances, their love would always find a way.
Of course, it truly means the globe to me. Our bond and collaboration are rock-solid, and I wouldn’t hesitate to reciprocate in kind for her. It’s thrilling to seize these instances that underscore our unity, both when we’re side by side and apart.
Despite the numerous transformations that FBI has undergone throughout its history, Maggie and OA’s collaboration remains a significant element in the show’s narrative. Zaki’s remarks offer comfort, suggesting that – barring any catastrophic events affecting the team before the end of Season 7 – they will return for Season 8. In fact, given the cancellations of shows like Most Wanted and International, FBI’s multi-season renewal last spring feels especially reassuring. The original series is assuredly ongoing until Season 9.
There’s still ample time until the Season 7 finale, but the sneak peek for the upcoming episode hints that Maggie could require support from OA in the near future. Let me show you:

It appears that Maggie could find herself in grave danger as the team pursues a serial killer, as Scola hasn’t found a permanent partner yet following Tiff’s departure. Don’t miss the upcoming episode of FBI on CBS this Tuesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. ET. After that, catch FBI: International at 9 p.m. ET and FBI: Most Wanted at 10 p.m. ET.
In the autumn, Tuesdays will have a noticeably altered appearance with the absence of “International” and “Most Wanted”. The pressing query at present revolves around whether CBS will formally commission the prospective “FBI: CIA” spinoff for broadcast.
