Warning: Plot details for the Episode 14 of Chicago P.D.’s 12th season titled “Marie” are revealed below. This episode can be streamed the following day if you have a Peacock subscription.
In the recent installment of the 2025 TV lineup, Chicago P.D. delved back into the harrowing storyline of young Zoe. Given Patrick John Flueger’s comments about working with the talented child actress, any episode featuring her is guaranteed to be emotionally charged. In this particular case, Zoe was kidnapped by a man she thought was her father, and the Intelligence Unit left no stone unturned in their search for him. Simultaneously, Ruzek found himself juggling personal responsibilities as he cared for his father whose memory loss progressed rapidly. A poignant moment occurred when Ruzek’s father failed to recognize his name, causing the officer to shed tears. However, a heartwarming smile graced his face when he was able to introduce Zoe to her grandmother.
In the end, the episode had a joyful resolution as Zoe found a caring relative and discovered her true name, Marie, as predicted from the title. However, it was a rather intense viewing experience. Despite the rough seas that even the Burzek ship navigated, they managed quite well. Given how emotionally taxing “Marie” turned out to be for Ruzek by the end, it’s comforting to see Marina Squerciati share some cheerful behind-the-scenes snaps of her trying on wedding dresses for Burgess and Ruzek’s upcoming wedding. After the events of “Marie,” a bit of levity was certainly needed!
Instead of continuing with the seriousness for a while, let’s pause and appreciate some lovely dresses and humorous remarks shared by Squerciati’s fellow actors in the series One Chicago! Before we proceed, don’t forget to read her caption that she has written below first.

I’m leaning toward dress number 2 with its long sleeves and deep V-neck for my choice. It suits Squerciati exceptionally well, given she recently had a baby. In fact, it appears to be a style that Burgess might prefer. There seems to be agreement among the cast of Chicago’s shows – Chicago P.D., former Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med – that this is the preferred choice for Squerciati by the One Chicago actors.
- Tracy Spiridakos (Chicago P.D.): “😍😍😍 I love 1 and 2! You look gorgeous. I’m so excited 🥹”
- LaRoyce Hawkins (Chicago P.D.): “i’m torn between option 2 and 3
i’m also torn between who’s best man i should be..🤔” - Yaya DaCosta (Chicago Med): “I vote for number two!”
Luckily, I wasn’t one of those commenting on Patrick John Flueger’s post, allowing him to possibly ignore Marina Squerciati’s caption that read, “I KNOW IT’S FOR TV, BUT PADDY DO NOT LOOK AT THIS POST.” As for LaRoyce Hawkins’ comments, I find myself favoring him as Ruzek’s best man given the charming choice of Makayla as Burgess’ maid of honor, the amusing option of Platt as Burgess’ matron of honor, or a surprise contender. Kiana has been an excellent addition to the Intelligence Unit, but her relatively short tenure doesn’t quite qualify her for bridal party consideration yet.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but feel my heart skip a beat when Tracy Spiridakos expresses her excitement. It’s got me hoping, with all my might, that Upton might make an appearance at the Burzek wedding, even if it’s just for a fleeting moment. Jesse Lee Soffer as Halstead would be a delightful bonus, but given his dramatic exit, it feels less likely than Upton’s more ambiguous departure. Truthfully, I’m yearning for a peaceful wedding ceremony for Burzek, free of any mishaps… and preferably not set in a fish store like Brettsey’s unfortunate incident on Chicago Fire.
Overall, Chicago P.D. can get quite intense at times, making it enjoyable to concentrate on potential sources of joy for the characters who endure so much hardship. For now, Marina Squerciati trying on wedding dresses seems to be the strongest hint that a wedding might take place for Burzek before the season ends. At least we won’t have another elopement like Upstead, right?
Find out what happens next with the latest episodes of “One Chicago” on NBC every Wednesday, starting with “Chicago Med” at 8 p.m. ET, moving to “Chicago Fire” at 9 p.m. ET, and wrapping up with “Chicago P.D.” at 10 p.m. ET. This week is a special occasion for “P.D.” as they prepare for a grand wedding; “Med’s” April and Ethan exchanged vows in a church ceremony, while “Fire’s” Brett and Casey celebrated their union at a fish store. Let’s hope Burzek will take home the victory!
