As a die-hard fan of Punjabi music, I’ve been following Karan Aujla’s career since his early days and I must say, it’s been a dream come true to see him rise to fame with his incredible talent. From Softly to White Brown Black, and now Tauba Tauba from Bad Newz, his songs have always resonated with me and millions of others across the globe.
Known for singing Vicky Kaushal’s hit track Tauba Tauba from Bad Newz, Punjabi singer Karan Aujla is getting ready to start his tour titled It Was All A Dream, which begins in Chandigarh on December 7, 2024. But before the event, a professor named Panditrao Dharnevar from Chandigarh has filed a complaint against him, alleging that Aujla’s music encourages harmful topics like the celebration of alcohol, drugs, and violence.
Based on a report from ABP, Professor Panditrao Dharnevar has advised Karan Aujla to steer clear of performing songs such as Chitta Kurta, Few Days, Adhia, Bandook, Alcohol 2, and Gangsta at his upcoming concert. He argues that these tracks may have a harmful impact on the audience.
If Aujla sings those specific songs, the professor warns he may take legal action by filing a defamation lawsuit – not only against the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), but also the Director General of Police (DGP) of Chandigarh. He holds both officials accountable for allowing the concert to proceed under their supervision.
Currently touring as Dil-Luminati, Diljit Dosanjh has been officially warned by the Telangana administration against performing songs that contain allusions to alcohol.
In response, the artist adjusted the words of his well-known songs, swapping “5 Tara Theke” with “5 Tara Hotel” and altering “Daaru ‘Ch Lemonade” to “Coke ‘Ch Lemonade.” Yet, he didn’t avoid addressing the matter jokingly, proposing that if every liquor store across the nation were closed, he would discontinue singing about alcohol altogether.
As a lifestyle advocate, I find it intriguing when Bollywood personalities endorse alcohol brands. Here’s an idea: Let’s initiate a movement! If every state successfully prohibits alcohol consumption, I vow to never compose another song about it for the remainder of my career. But, is such a feat achievable? That’s the question.
Karan Aujla’s highly anticipated debut arena tour titled “It Was All A Dream” is scheduled for December 2024, covering eight cities in India. The Indian-Canadian artist will commence his shows first in Chandigarh on the 7th of December, then Bengaluru on the 13th, New Delhi on the 15th, and finally Mumbai on the 21st of December.
Known for being among the top influencers in contemporary Punjabi tunes, this Vancouver-based vocalist has earned acclaim through popular tracks such as Softly, White Brown Black, and Tauba Tauba from Bad Newz.
