After Selling Out Last Year, Holywood-Loved Brand Timex Debuts New Pan Am Watch Collection

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for nostalgia, I can’t help but feel the thrill that Timex and Pan Am have managed to bring back into my life. The golden age of air travel might be a thing of the past, but with these timepieces, I can relive the grandeur and glamour of that era right on my wrist!

Despite persistent flight disruptions causing delays and cancellations, it seems unlikely that the glory days of air travel will make a comeback at the airport. (Think about the cocktail lounges, stylish uniforms, and legroom!) Timex’s collaboration with Pan Am offers a chance for watch enthusiasts and history buffs to journey back in time – and due to its popularity last year, this Hollywood-favored duo has released a new collection for fall.

Ranging from $289 to $299, the fresh Timex x Pan Am assortment unveils two innovative designs in reprocessed stainless steel casings and straps with accentuated stitching: the Fly Back Chronograph in a 43mm diameter and the Waterbury GMT shape in a 39mm dimension. The chronograph movement boasts lowered, fan-shaped sub-dials positioned at 4 o’clock and 10 o’clock, adorned with retrograde hands. When not utilized as a lap counter, the upper sub-dial has the ability to monitor an additional time zone.

This GMT timepiece features a quartz mechanism that simultaneously displays a second time zone, and it boasts Arabic numerals and a date opening on a deep navy-blue face.

Design elements inspired by Pan Am feature their well-known globe logo on accents like plates, crowns, strap fittings, and case backs. The watch faces are adorned with a metallic blue reminiscent of the defunct airline’s color schemes, and the hands glow in the dark. These watches can withstand water up to 100 meters, and they come packaged in a vibrant collector’s set that includes an accessories set inspired by vintage styles, including a lapel pin.

Established in 1927, Pan Am was known as “the world’s most seasoned airline” and symbolized the opulent Jet Age. It later filed for bankruptcy in 1991 and has made appearances on both big and small screens, such as in the ABC series ‘Pan Am’, two ‘Indiana Jones’ movies, numerous ‘007’ films, and others. Notably, Leonardo DiCaprio portrayed the character of Frank Abagnal Jr., a con artist posing as a Pan Am pilot, in ‘Catch Me If You Can’.

Last year, Timex unveiled their second collaboration with Pan Am, which quickly sold out in both restockings. You can now shop this latest Timex x Pan Am partnership online. Check out the two newly released watches below.
