As a dedicated fan of Arcane, I can confidently say that this show has taken my emotions on a rollercoaster ride like no other. With each passing episode, it continues to reel me in with its captivating storytelling and heart-wrenching moments.
Spoilers for Arcane Season 2, Act II lie ahead, so read on at your own discretion.
As a devoted fan, let me tell you that Arcane, currently streaming on Netflix, is undoubtedly one of the top shows out there. The second season is unfolding weekly according to the 2024 TV schedule in an innovative three-episode arc, three Acts per season structure. Ever since the first season debuted in 2021, fans have been on tenterhooks for the next chapter of this League of Legends adaptation. After the latest release, I find myself needing more than a week to gather my thoughts, primarily due to the poignant similarities between estranged sisters Jinx and Violet that left me emotionally drained.
In Act II, they delve into their past and present, employing poignant moments that are guaranteed to tug at the viewers’ heartstrings, ultimately leading to a death scene that will undoubtedly be one of the most emotionally impactful in the production.
Vander Served Powder The Same Exact Drink He Served Her Mom
In Act II of Season 2, we delve deeper into the history of characters Vander and Silco, learning about their connection to Powder and Violet’s mother, Felicia. In the episode titled “Blisters and Bedrock”, viewers are treated to a flashback showing the friendship between Vander and Silco as they harbored ambitious plans for the Undercity. When Felicia informs them that she is pregnant with a baby girl, Vander exchanges her drink for a cup of juice and places a straw within it subtly hinting at his feelings towards the impending birth.
In case this scene seems familiar to some viewers, it’s because a comparable exchange occurred in Season 1, Episode 2, where Vander served a drink to little Powder to lift her spirits, using the same cup and straw. Moreover, the same song could be heard from the jukebox in both instances, a tune we find out was one of Felicia’s favorites. Reminiscing, viewers also uncover that Felicia not only entrusted Vander with supervising the children but also Silco, which adds an extra layer of poignancy to his relationship with Jinx.
Vi and Jinx Parallel Jinx and Isha
Act II’s opening reveals a new side of Piltover, one characterized by strict security under Ambessa’s rule. On the other hand, in the Undercity, Jinx is now a beacon of rebellion, quite different from the chaotic, enigmatic antagonist viewers were familiar with. The shifts suggest that several months have elapsed since Act I.
In contrast to her newfound heroic persona, Jinx has been maintaining a quiet life with Isha, developing a close, family-like relationship with the girl. In essence, Isha serves as a younger sister to Jinx, whom she nurtures in ways she hasn’t had to before, dyeing her hair blue and teaching her shooting skills. In Season 2, Episode 4, Jinx confides that Isha resembles her childhood self, suggesting that perhaps the essence of Powder still lingers within her.
When Sevika manages to persuade Jinx into aiding her in rescuing her followers from prison, among them Isha, they stumble upon the monstrous creature known as the Beast. Spurred by carnage, it indiscriminately kills anyone in its path. With Jinx charging at the Beast, Sevika rushes to get Isha to safety. The terrified little girl cries out the entire way, clinging onto her savior.
In an unexpected twist, roles are switched in the last act of part two: instead, Vi now restrains Jinx while Isha bravely chooses to shield Jinx from danger, taking up a gun and advancing towards the enraged Beast, who was previously known as Vander.

Arcane: 10 Other Shows To Watch If You Like The League Of Legends Series
In this heart-wrenching sequence, the writers grant Jinx and Vi a family and tranquility, but snatch it back almost instantly. The intense sorrow portrayed on Jinx’s face is nearly nauseating. It leaves me anxious about the future of their relationship, as they were rebuilding their bond as sisters. Now, my main concern is that Jinx might channel her pain towards Vi. My sole wish is for Jinx to recognize herself in her elder sibling, just like Isha mirrored Powder’s influence on Violet.
Following that conclusion and some thoughtful deliberation about those similarities, I’m left wondering what the grand finale of the series will hold, and I find myself quite emotional about it. Showrunner Christian Linke revealed that there won’t be another season, but he did spark excitement among fans by hinting at potential spinoffs featuring other League of Legends characters. For our Arcane cast, this marks the conclusion of their adventure.
It remains uncertain how the writers plan to wrap up all the plotlines in just three remaining episodes. I truly hope that Vi and Jinx can stay together, as their bond seems more important than ever after the ending of Vander and Isha’s Act II. The last installments of Arcane will debut on November 23rd, exclusively for Netflix subscribers.
