- Age of Empires Mobile is slated to release on October 17th
- It’s a mobile spin-off of the hit RTS series which helped define the genre
- A new cinematic trailer also accompanies the announcement
As a seasoned gamer with decades of RTS (Real-Time Strategy) gaming under my belt, I must admit that the anticipation for Age of Empires Mobile is palpable. Having grown up with the original series and watching it help define the genre, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension as we approach its release on October 17th.
The upcoming spin-off of the popular real-time strategy series, Age of Empires Mobile, will be globally available on October 17th. Alongside this announcement, a new cinematic trailer has been released to commemorate the date. Developed by TiMi Studios, the creators behind Call of Duty: Mobile and Pokémon Unite.
For most gamers, Age of Empires is likely a well-known title; however, for those who may be unfamiliar, this series is legendary within the realm of real-time strategy games. It presents various historically significant cultures competing against one another in combat. The gameplay primarily focuses on enhancing your settlement and training a skilled military force to outmaneuver and ultimately conquer your adversary.
As a gamer, I’ve noticed that Age of Empires Mobile has been light on gameplay demonstrations so far. But given its significant role in shaping the Real-Time Strategy (RTS) genre, it’s reasonable to anticipate many similarities with the original version. Unlike traditional RTS games, the base building mechanics might be tied to your account rather than being unique for each individual battle you engage in.
Age of mobile?
It’s understandable that longtime fans of Age of Empires might be a bit anxious, as while there are several mobile games inspired by the series, not many seem to capture its essence. As we approach the release of Age of Empires Mobile in October, many fans will be keeping a keen eye on what sort of in-app purchases or free-to-play compromises have been made.
