Hello there, fellow game enthusiasts! As someone who’s spent countless hours immersed in the digital worlds of various creatures, I must say that Capybara Go has truly captured my heart. Having traversed the realms of dragons, elves, and even aliens, I never thought a simple capybara could hold such an allure. But Habby has proven me wrong!

Hi there and welcome! You’re stepping into the world of Ahead of the Game, a thrilling journey where we share exciting insights about a game still in its pre-release phase. With this series, you get an exclusive opportunity to dive into the action before it officially drops. Whether it’s through Soft Launch, Open Beta, demos, or other means, you’re getting a sneak peek at what’s hot and fresh in the gaming world!

Managing regional releases can sometimes feel like a tricky situation (Is it available yet? Is it worldwide? Will angry fans storm my house if I announce its release prematurely?), but one advantage of early access games is that we can at least get a taste of the game without the distractions of an official launch. With so many launch banners and limited-time events, it’s easy to lose sight of what a game is truly about, but a low-key soft launch allows players to immerse themselves in the gameplay without any unnecessary extras.

Delve into our weekly spotlight, “Ahead of the Curve,” which showcases those early releases and area debuts. Explore what could become your new favorite pastime, or ignite a fresh excitement for each new day ahead.

This week showcases a serene scene of adored capybaras relaxing in a hot spring, with fragrant yuzu orbs floating around. This picture perfectly embodies these creatures, and it certainly deserves the accolade. There’s something enchanting about capybaras that mysteriously invites you to be still, which is why Habby’s idea of blending capybaras with idle gameplay is nothing short of genius.

In essence, Capybara Go provides elements of idleness, yet with a unique twist: it’s a text-based RPG where you play as a solitary capybara. These intruders have taken over your home, and your mission is to seek retribution against the world. Although this quest is heroic, it’s not truly idle, but who could resist controlling such an endearing, portly capybara?

Now, I can’t, for the life of me, understand just how something that’s a relative of a rat be this cute, but I will die on this hill claiming Habby’s version of the capybara is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen in my life. Sure, there’s Survivor.io and Archero, but Capybara Go might just be the team’s best mobile offering yet – just take one look at your capybara and I’m sure you’ll agree.

In essence, the gameplay primarily involves clicking a button to advance through each day, guiding your capybara hero across treacherous waters and blazing dungeons. The roguelike aspect adds excitement with unforeseen events such as an ambush from a mysterious sack containing treasure or a weeping mass of goo that unexpectedly turns out to be a prince in distress.

Outside combat, you receive the anticipated AFK rewards, but you also have the opportunity to acquire mounts and hatch creatures that can join you in battles. Incidentally, both a grinning cloud with thunderbolts and a cactus wearing boxing gloves are considered creatures in this game. The essence of the game lies in continuously advancing your character, navigating roguelike stages, and ensuring your capybara survives long enough for future fights – a cycle I’m eager to find myself trapped in for an extended period.

So, how do you play Capybara Go?

Now, if you’ve drawn the short end of the stick and happen to be in a region where Capybara Go isn’t out yet, fret not, as it’s confirmed that a global launch is indeed imminent. In the meantime, here are the regions that can now embark on their capybara-ing adventure today:

  • Asia (South, South East, West), Eastern Europe (Select), South & Central America, North Africa (Select nations) and South Africa (Nation, not region).
