Greetings and welcome to Ahead of Time Glimpse, a collection where we share exciting details about an upcoming game that is already accessible for you to experience upon reading this. This series offers you the unique opportunity to delve into games before their official release date, whether it’s through Soft Launch, Open Beta, Demos, or alternative methods.

Although my photography abilities in the real world might need improvement, in the game TOEM: A Photo Adventure, others find my photos quite acceptable. This delightful hand-drawn puzzle adventure begins with you as an eager and inexperienced photographer, embarking on a journey from home to search for the elusive Toem.

Under the affectionate approval of your grandmother, you plan to embark on your inaugural bus journey away from home, aiming to collect a multitude of enchanting images to add to your photo album, which you will later share with her.

Not only does this initial encounter bring a warmth to my heart, but it’s no wonder that the Non-Player Characters you’ll come across and the creatures you’ll unexpectedly encounter throughout your journey also have touching tales to share as well.

It seems like the old-fashioned charm comes from the fact that you have an antique camera with a genuine zoom lens, which brings back memories from a childhood game of hide-and-seek, and the artwork matches this nostalgic feel beautifully.

The music playlist, that you can switch between at your convenience using your personal media device, contributes to creating a delightful ambiance. As a result, every photograph you capture seems more magical than the one before.

Essentially, the main gameplay involves snapping photos to meet various demands – from locating a small troop of ants who resemble soldiers, to convincing a bouncer that you’re stylish enough to enter a club with a simple pair of sunglasses doing the trick.

After meeting the required number of service completions, you earn marks on your neighborhood pass, enabling you to travel by bus for free to the next destination – and the process repeats.

So, how do you play TOEM: A Photo Adventure?

TOEM: A Photo Adventure is
currently in early access on Android
, with a free demo you can play to get a feel of the experience. It took me a little over 30 minutes to finish the demo, and it honestly left me wanting more.

Still, there remain numerous mysteries that need resolving in my mind – such as the enigma of why my spectacles pick up on ghostly presences, and the question of what precisely a Toem truly is.
