They lured me in with the music.

Essentially, Transformers: Eternal War is an upcoming strategy game in which you gather Autobots and Decepticons to battle the ever-expanding Chaos Legion. The graphics are appealing, the gameplay is exciting, but what truly won me over is the music – it’s reminiscent of nostalgic charm. If you appreciate things that have hidden depth, chances are, you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Absolutely, it’s a thrill to see the iconic music from the original animated series resurrected in this game, a clear testament to Hasbro’s involvement in shaping this officially licensed strategy RPG. The Transformers’ transformation sequences are visually stunning, and their sounds, whether it’s the roar of a special attack or the dialogue in some voiced cutscenes, have a comforting familiarity that feels like stepping back into my childhood memories.

In terms of gameplay, it follows the usual pattern for idle RPGs: You gather characters through gacha, enhance their levels, design your team formation, and automatically send them into battle. The game offers many rewards when you’re away from the keyboard, and you can also automatically outfit your characters with gear and select the top five to help level up the rest of your squad.

The game features both a roguelike mode and an explorable Ark, enhancing the overall storyline by necessitating Autobots and Decepticons to work together against a mutual enemy, despite their initial resistance. While I enjoy the main gameplay mechanics, it’s the visual and audio elements that truly captivate me.

Instead, I’d say, “I really enjoyed spending a lot of time adjusting Sludge and turning him in circles, simply to appreciate the cuteness of his bulky Dinobot form. No regrets whatsoever.

So, how do you play Transformers: Eternal War?
