Ahsoka Season 2 Release Date Revealed: Exclusive Insider Details

A reliable inside informant has disclosed to That Park Place when Ahsoka Season 2 is likely to appear on Disney+, as well as the internal factors leading to the selection of this particular release date by Lucasfilm.

So far, there’s no fixed date for the release of Ahsoka Season 2, but according to our trusted industry insiders, it seems like we might be seeing it between late autumn of 2026 and early winter of that year. However, keep in mind that this could shift if there are any delays or changes in leadership at Lucasfilm.

If Disney is counting on Ahsoka to be the big Disney+ driver for late 2026, consider me skeptical.

According to various sources such as Ebaster and Youtini, it appears that the release of Ahsoka Season 2 could fall around 2026. They suggest that it may debut in either the fall or winter months. Some Reddit posts speculate a release date of Autumn/Winter 2026, while other websites hint at a post-May 2026 release, with summer being a possibility but a later 2026 date being more likely.

In addition, it’s been shared by Forbes that Season 2 of The Mandalorian and Grogu is likely to premiere around three months following the predicted May 2026 release of their film. This aligns perfectly with a fall 2026 air date.

According to our unnamed sources, the planning for Ahsoka Season 2 is strategically arranged with two specific aims in mind.

Initially, there are rumors suggesting that Alan Horn doesn’t want the upcoming show to premiere before “The Mandalorian and Grogu” in order to shield the movie from potential negative impact due to a less-than-favorably received Disney+ series. Contrastingly, it’s speculated that Lucasfilm could be planning for the second season of the show to tie into storylines from “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” ensuring continuity and boosting fan excitement. There have been whispers about Mando possibly becoming a trilogy and Ahsoka potentially joining him in these films, but the outcome depends on how well the latest Star Wars film since 2019 performs at the box office.

A newly revealed agency roster indicates that Ahsoka’s Season 2 will be steered by four directors, among them established figures like Dave Filoni and Jennifer Getzinger, as well as fresh faces such as Bryce Dallas Howard and Anders Engström.

Previously, Filoni directed episodes “Master and Apprentice” (Part 1) and “Shadow Warrior” (Part 5), while Getzinger handled episode “Far, Far Away” (Part 6. Howard is entering the Ahsoka universe following his directorial work on The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Skeleton Crew. Engström, who gained fame with Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Apple TV+’s See, is making his Star Wars directorial debut in this series. According to one source, Getzinger and Engström are responsible for episodes 2, 3, and 7 respectively.

It remains to be seen if others will be added to the directing roster.

Production kicked off on April 28, 2025, with filming ongoing in the U.K.

In this new lineup, we find familiar faces like Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine), Eman Esfandi (Ezra), and Hayden Christensen (Anakin). Alongside them are Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lars Mikkelsen, David Tennant, and Ivanna Sakhno. The characters of Zeb Orrelios, previously played by Steve Blum in the series Rebels, will once again be brought to life, while Rory McCann takes over the role of Baylan Skoll from the late Ray Stevenson.

In the production of Ahsoka Season 2, the creative lead continues to be steady under the direction of Dave Filoni, alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Jon Favreau, John Bartnicki, and Carrie Beck. Notably, it is Dave Filoni who has written every episode for this season.
