As a researcher with extensive experience in the field of artificial intelligence and work trends, I find the Microsoft and LinkedIn’s 2024 report on the increasing use of AI among knowledge workers quite intriguing. The rapid adoption of AI tools by employees dealing with heavy workloads is a clear indication of their effectiveness in managing tasks more efficiently.
As a crypto investor, I’ve noticed an impressive surge in the adoption of AI technology. According to Microsoft and LinkedIn’s 2024 report, an astounding three-quarters of global knowledge workers are now employing AI tools in their daily tasks – that’s nearly double the number just six months ago.
Approximately 75% of knowledge workers worldwide utilize AI as a valuable resource to help them manage their workloads more efficiently. Gain additional perspectives from the latest findings of the Work Trend Index, now in its 4th year, presented by Microsoft and LinkedIn.

The report highlights how increasingly burdensed workers are turning to personal AI aids for assistance. Nevertheless, certain executives remain reluctant, as they feel pressured to demonstrate quick financial gains from such investments, although the incorporation of AI appears to be an unavoidable trend.
Based on the findings from the survey I analyzed, I discovered that an impressive 90% of AI users reported saving time with its implementation. Furthermore, a significant 85% of respondents mentioned being able to concentrate on essential tasks as a result. Additionally, 84% expressed feeling more innovative and creative, while a substantial 83% indicated increased enjoyment in their work post-AI usage.
As a crypto investor, I’ve noticed that an impressive 79% of company leaders recognize the importance of adopting AI for staying competitive. However, it seems that over half of them, or 59%, are finding it challenging to measure its productivity benefits. The adoption of AI is not limited to any particular age group, with Gen Z taking the lead at a whopping 85% usage rate. Millennials and Gen X aren’t far behind, standing at 78% and 76% usage respectively.
According to the report, approximately 45% of individuals express concern about AI taking their jobs, while 46% are actively looking for new opportunities and have applied for more jobs since last autumn. LinkedIn data reveals a 14% rise in job applications per position compared to last year, with an impressive 85% of professionals considering a job change in the current period.
While some employees find value in using AI technologies, certain leaders remain hesitant about their immediate advantages, despite a general consensus that AI is crucial for staying competitive in today’s marketplace.
