The classic Bollywood film “Taal,” featuring Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, and Akshaye Khanna, is recognized as a timeless masterpiece. Originally directed by Subhash Ghai and debuted in 1999, it will be re-released in over 100 theaters across India on September 27, 2024, marking its 25th anniversary.
On September 22, renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai shared on Instagram that his highly acclaimed film, Taal, will be back in cinemas. The exciting news is that it’s set to return to theaters starting from September 27, 2024.
Starting from September 27th, next week, TAAL is making a comeback to theaters! It’s going to be an immersive Bug Screen Experience. MUKTA ARTS LTD is thrilled to bring TAAL back on the big screen in over 100 cinemas due to popular demand. We hope you will have a better viewing experience than the small screen after 25 years. In his special announcement, Ghai showcased several vintage photos of the filmmaking crew. The first image highlighted the talented screenwriters, Javed Akhtar, Sachin Bhowmick, and Anand-Bakshi. Subsequently, he shared a movie still that depicted Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai, symbolizing exceptional choreography.
Next in line was a snapshot showcasing the actor from Mr India exemplifying exceptional acting, followed by an informal, nostalgic photo featuring Ghai and Akshaye Khanna. The video progressed with Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor striking poses alongside renowned choreographer Shiamak Davar, accompanied by gold-framed images of the film’s technicians, director, and composer AR Rahman in action. Additionally, we catch a glimpse of the Taal team posing together during promotional events.
Significantly, Ghai previously expressed his enthusiasm regarding the re-release, and in a statement he made public, he mentioned, “This presents an excellent chance for me as a director to connect with my viewers. I look forward to sharing some captivating tales, particularly about the creation of Taal, which is also one of my cherished films.
To this day, the acclaimed movie remains beloved for its remarkable acting by the cast and the captivating tunes composed by AR Rahman, beyond just its intriguing plot. The music from the film has endured as a hit and still resonates with audiences emotionally.
