Ajay Devgn has an unexpected reaction to ‘Zubaan Kesari’ memes; reveals his pranks have gotten 1-2 couples divorced

As a seasoned follower of Bollywood, I have had the privilege of witnessing the evolution of some of its most iconic figures, and Ajay Devgn is undoubtedly one of them. His calm demeanor on-screen belies the playful prankster lurking beneath, as evidenced by his antics that led to a few unexpected divorces.

In the world of Bollywood, Ajay Devgn is often seen as having a serene and collected demeanor. Yet, beneath this calm exterior lies a mischievous streak that’s famous for causing trouble on set. Lately, the star from Golmaal has confessed that some of his pranks were so outrageous they contributed to a few divorces! He also spoke about the phrase “Speak like Kesari” joining internet humor trends.

In a recent chat following the release of Singham Again, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Allahabadia, and Rohit Shetty participated in an interview. During their conversation, they watched a backstage video which featured Ranveer playing a prank on a cameraman during filming for Golmaal.

In response to the video, Devgn and Shetty burst out laughing, with the director noting it was a harmless joke. He then shared a memory of a more intricate prank where they sent a woman and children to a production team member’s house, pretending she was his first wife. This prank resulted in an argument between the team member and his family, comically demonstrating the extent of their practical jokes.

Ajay Devgn admitted that in their day, pranksters didn’t concern themselves with offending others, stating, “These days, people pulling pranks worry about upsetting someone. We didn’t think twice about it back then. Our antics even led to a few divorces.” However, he made it clear that these divorces did not involve any celebrities.

Besides chatting about pranks, Devgn was also questioned about his well-known catchphrase, “Speak like Gold, My Tongue,” from an endorsement. When asked if he appreciates the slogan being a part of meme trends, Devgn replied, “I guess… I don’t mind.

Rohit Shetty stated that the phrase no longer seems inappropriate to him, as he believes everyone appreciates memes and simply finds them amusing. Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn added that sometimes, memes are intentionally created to boost a film’s popularity.

Under the leadership of Ajay Devgn and the direction of Rohit Shetty, the film titled “Singham Again” marks the fifth addition to the cherished cop-themed franchise. This high-octane action movie showcases prominent performances by Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Akshay Kumar, among others in pivotal roles.

Based on TopMob’s analysis, the movie “Singham Again” is raking in impressive earnings at the box office, having grossed nearly Rs 180 crores so far, with its Saturday takings included.
