Ajay Devgn turned down Vivek Oberoi’s role in Hrithik’s Krrish 3 due to THIS reason, reveals Rakesh Roshan: ‘Aap to compromise karenge nahi’

As a dedicated follower of Bollywood, I must say it’s always fascinating to learn about the behind-the-scenes stories that shape our favorite films. The revelation that Ajay Devgn was initially offered the role of Kaal in Krrish 3 and turned it down is quite intriguing. It’s a testament to his commitment to his hero image, as he felt it wouldn’t sit right for him to be defeated by another hero in the film.

In the movie Krrish 3, which featured Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, and Vivek Oberoi, achieved immense success. Interestingly, it was recently disclosed by director Rakesh Roshan that he initially offered Vivek’s role to Ajay Devgn. However, Ajay declined the offer, explaining that he wasn’t comfortable playing a villain and even Rakesh Roshan acknowledged that he wouldn’t compromise on the role. This revelation comes years after Ajay had turned down Salman Khan’s part in Karan Arjun due to personal reasons.

In a recent chat with News 18, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan shared an interesting tidbit: originally, he had planned for Ajay Devgn to play the antagonist Kaal in Krrish 3. Unfortunately, Ajay declined the offer, leading to Vivek Oberoi getting the role instead. According to Rakesh, Ajay felt that, as a heroic character, it wouldn’t feel fitting for him to be defeated by another hero within the movie.

As a devoted admirer, I’ve always yearned to work alongside the exceptional talent that is Ajay Devgn. Regrettably, our paths haven’t crossed in a professional capacity, a fact lamented by Rakesh Roshan himself. He has openly acknowledged Ajay as a ‘remarkable actor’ whose performances consistently leave an indelible mark on every film he graces with his presence. Intriguingly, Rakesh did extend an offer to Ajay for the role eventually portrayed by Vivek Oberoi in Krrish 3, but alas, our collaboration had to wait for another day due to unforeseen circumstances at that time.

Rakesh mentioned that when he talked to Ajay about the role, Ajay appreciated the story and screenplay but expressed reservations. He remembered Ajay telling him, “Rakesh sir, this role might be challenging for me because I’m also a hero. It wouldn’t look good if I die at the end, and you wouldn’t want to change the storyline.” (It would be difficult for me to play this part as I am already a hero. If my character dies in the end, it won’t look appropriate, and you won’t compromise on the story.)

The director concurred, confirming his unwillingness to make any concessions, thus showing the entire script. In the end, Ajay declined the proposal.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the Krrish franchise, a towering success in Bollywood, reached new heights with Krrish 3 gracing the silver screen back in 2013. Starring Hrithik Roshan as the titular superhero, the movie was an undeniable blockbuster. Now, the director, Rakesh Roshan, has officially announced Krrish 4, leaving fans like me buzzing with anticipation.

Furthermore, Rakesh is preparing for the upcoming rerelease of the classic movie “Karan Arjun,” which is marking its 30th anniversary this year.
