At a recent gathering organized by Hindustan Times, actors Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn shared that their family members often critique their work. Akshay Kumar, also known as Khiladi Kumar, admitted that he usually avoids taking his wife Twinkle Khanna to movie screenings. When he does decide to show her a film, she is quick to voice her opinions about the poor quality of certain scenes and criticize both the movie and its conclusion.
In this instance, he traveled back in time and recounted the moment when Twinkle criticized Akshay’s movie in front of a producer. “The first occasion I introduced her to my project, the producer inquired about her opinion on the film, and she labeled it as poor-quality (terrible). That particular producer never collaborated with me again,” Kumar jokingly remarked.
Nevertheless, Akshay Kumar admitted that he admires her for expressing her thoughts openly. Moreover, he shared that whenever his wife appreciates something, she genuinely compliments it. “She was overjoyed with Khel Khel Mein, even though it didn’t succeed commercially, it held a special place in my heart,” Akshay Kumar added.
Alongside him, Ajay Devgn – known for his role as Shaitaan – confessed that his wife Kajol and children Nysa and Yug aren’t shy about critiquing his films. The actor explained that Kajol and the kids share similar opinions, but he acknowledged that with the emergence of a new generation, he adapts, understands their perspectives, and learns what resonates. He added that the younger generation is prone to criticize when they feel like it.
In addition to his remarks, the actor-producer expressed gratitude towards those who developed AirPods. He explained that this technology allows him to wear them while his family continues to converse, and he jokingly mentioned that his children often correct him on modern slang from Generation Z.
