Movie Kesari Chapter 2 – The Hidden Tale of Jallianwala Bagh, starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, has been steadily increasing its earnings at the cinema. In a recent conversation, director Karan Singh Tyagi shared that Akshay Kumar will lead all upcoming Kesari series movies and also explained his reasoning behind casting Ananya Panday as Dillreet Gill’s character.
In a chat with News18, Karan Singh Tyagi disclosed information regarding future installments and hinted that Akshay Kumar will remain the main character in the series. He explained that with the title “Kesari Chapter 2,” they plan to further develop the storyline, introducing untold tales about brave heroes who have not yet received recognition.

According to reports, Karan Singh Tyagi mentioned that Ananya Panday was chosen for Kesari Chapter 2 in 2022. Her acting in Gehraiyaan played a crucial part in this decision. He admitted being profoundly impressed by her performance in Gehraiyaan, which ultimately prompted him to meet her and present her with the role of Dilreet Gill.
Karan commended Ananya’s devotion towards the movie, emphasizing her outstanding acting in Kesari Chapter 2. He pointed out that she went through dialect coaching for more than a year and researched the behaviors of female lawyers to prepare for her role.
Additionally, he mentioned that they stopped by the Bombay High Court, which was where Ananya got an up-close look at a woman attorney at work, aiming to grasp her function more accurately.
Speaking highly of Panday’s role preparation, the former attorney-turned-director revealed that she delved deeply into the Jallianwala Bagh massacre incident by extensively researching it, including reading a book containing poems about the sorrowful event. He went on to say that this book served as her “guiding text,” as she always had it with her during filming.
He went on to say that Ananya convincingly took on the part of Dilreet Gill, demonstrating an impressive blend of fragility and determination, and skillfully portraying these aspects throughout her acting.
