Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira co-star Radhikka Madan on their 28-year age difference: ‘The reason you don’t feel that is…’

As a dedicated follower of Bollywood news and a keen observer of the industry trends, I have noticed that the age gap between leading actors in films has been a subject of much debate recently. The latest example being the 28-year age difference between Akshay Kumar and Radhikka Madan in the film “Sarfira.” I was particularly intrigued by this pairing, given the controversy that often surrounds such casting choices.

Discussing the significant age differences between some prominent celebrity pairs in Indian entertainment would be a topic of endless debate. A fresh example that has sparked controversy is the 28-year age gap between Akshay Kumar (46) and Radhika Madan (18) in the movie “Sarfira.” Radhika recently spoke to India Today about this issue in a subtle manner.

Radhika, aged 29, felt that these conversations about the film were very active before its release. However, after the movie came out, she stated that she had read “forty-two reviews” without finding any mention of the age difference between her and her co-star. Instead, all the critics raved about their “amazing chemistry,” “intense connection,” and “charming interaction.” This was the same group of people who had questioned the casting during the trailer’s debut.

In her opinion, the creators of Sarfira previously prioritized its surface elements. However, despite skepticism from some that they were merely repeating themselves with ‘dobara yeh hi kiya hain’ (they have done this again), they ensured a complete transformation.

Radhikka Madan says that the movie is self-explanatory about age-difference

Madan emphasized that Sarfira’s storyline has been skillfully portrayed from the start, even in the opening scene. She explained, “The depth of Veer and Rani’s connection might be why you don’t immediately notice it. It’s not just about her being an attractive young woman or him being a charming older man.”

In my experience as a lifestyle expert, I’ve come across stories where two individuals, like Akshay and his character, have had to fiercely defend their dreams against the skepticism of those around them. And interestingly enough, it was this determination that sparked an undeniable attraction between them. Let me clarify, this wasn’t about their wealth or physical appearance, but rather their unwavering commitment to their goals and beliefs. The actress herself emphasized this point by sharing, “She didn’t consent to him until she could look at herself and him with respect.”

Under the guidance of Sudha Kongara, the film Sarfira hit theaters on July 12. The cast included Paresh Rawal, Seema Biswas, R. Sarathkumar, Saurabh Goyal, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian, and Iravati Harshe Mayadev, among others. This film represented Kumar’s 150th release at the box office, but unfortunately, it was his tenth consecutive box office failure (excluding OMG 2, which featured Pankaj Tripathi in the lead role).
