Akuma Joins Monster Hunter Wilds With Playable Street Fighter 6 Moveset

For the last couple of days, Capcom has been hinting at a unique partnership between Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter Wilds, and now it’s officially happening. The collaboration event, set for May 28th, will allow players to obtain a distinctive Layered Armor set for Akuma from Monster Hunter Wilds. However, that’s not the only thing; you’ll also be able to secure his move set and use it to go monster hunting.

Instead of prior Monster Hunter collaborations where Layered Armors were typically more about aesthetics than functionality, Akuma stands out as a unique exception, offering more than just fashion-focused hunting or costuming.

To unleash their inner demon abilities, players should don the complete Akuma Layered Armor and Regular Armor set. Gather materials from the forthcoming event quests titled “Demonic Strength” and “True Strength” to unlock these sets. Once you’ve collected the necessary components, visit Gemma for the forging and crafting process.

In simpler terms, Akuma’s fighting style in this game is modeled after the Drive Impact system from Street Fighter 6. Once you’ve applied the skin, you can choose “Akuma’s Assisted Combo” from the items menu to incorporate his moves into your combat strategy.

After selecting it from the Items Menu, Akuma becomes uncontrollable, launching unique abilities such as the Gou Hadouken and Gou Shoryuken. The most exciting aspect? The damage inflicted increases according to your currently selected main weapon. Utilizing the complete armor rather than just the Layered version boosts his move set. A majority of Akuma’s attacks will also acquire Stun properties and a distinctive offset effect.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been buzzing with anticipation about the upcoming event on May 28th. The question remains whether Akuma’s moves alone can fell a monster, but the thrill of testing that theory is enough to keep me hooked!

In the collaboration between Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter Wilds, there will be several paid DLC packs available, which include two Alma costumes: Chun-Li and Cammy. These items exude the distinctive style of Street Fighter 6, as seen in their stickers and pendants. For more details, visit Capcom’s official website.
