Al Pacino is racing off to join the cast of Bobby Moresco’s Maserati: The Brothers.

According to the intel received from the producers on Thursday in Cannes, the second and concluding stage of filming will commence in Rome during June, with a tentative autumn release date. The movie Maserati: The Brothers tells the story of the Maserati family’s journey and their impact on the world of automotive ingenuity.

In the upcoming biopic produced by Andrea Iervolino, Robert De Niro (Pacino) will take on the role of Vincenzo Vaccaro, a fervent supporter of the Maserati family and an original backer in their automotive empire. Joining previously announced stars Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia, Jessica Alba, Michele Morrone, and Salvatore Esposito are newcomers Gina La Piana and Tatiana Luter.

Nicki Cortese and Wayne Marc Godfrey, partners at Bright White Light, are jointly funding and overseeing the project’s development.
