With Alan Ritchson‘s Jack Reacher uttering those words, it feels like we’ve finally reached the start line for another thrilling ride. The news of ‘Reacher’ season three dropping on Feb 20th is music to my ears, especially knowing that it’ll be a weekly dose of adrenaline-pumping episodes!
“I’ve been waiting for this moment for some time now.”
Those words are delivered by Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher in the opening seconds of a new teaser for Prime Video‘s hit Reacher, but the sentence could easily belong to legions of fans across the globe as they await season three. The wait officially now has a timeline in place, as Ritchson revealed from the stage at CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil, that a new batch of episodes will debut on the streamer on Feb. 20.
The season consisting of eight episodes will be released weekly, starting with the initial three episodes debuting first, followed by new episodes every Thursday up until March 27, broadcast in over 240 countries and territories across the globe. Actor Ritchson made an appearance on the Thunder Stage alongside cast member Maria Sten and Lee Childs, who is both the author of the Reacher novels and an executive producer.
The news arrives after the successful second season of Reacher, which turned out to be Prime Video’s most-watched release in 2023, has led Amazon to announce earlier this year that the series, known for its action-packed episodes, will return for a fourth season, with filming set to start in 2025.
Additionally, it’s no surprise that the latest teaser, displayed above, showcases Ritchson embodying Reacher in his traditional rugged physique. Interestingly, it seems that Reacher encounters a formidable adversary named Paulie, also known as Paul Masserella, who is a gatekeeper at an extravagant waterfront mansion. This plot point appears to be drawn from Child’s book titled “Persuader.” The third season sees Reacher entangled in a criminal network as he strives to save a DEA informant whose clock is ticking. In this endeavor, he uncovers a realm of secrets and brutality while addressing some lingering matters from his own past.
In this new production, Ritchson and Sten will be joined by fresh faces like Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, Brian Tee, Johnny Berchtold, Robert Montesinos, Daniel David Stewart, and Olivier Richters. “Reacher” is a joint venture by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios. The series is penned by Emmy-nominated writer Nick Santora, who also assumes the roles of executive producer and showrunner.
Besides Santora and Child, Ritchson is also a co-producer with Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell at Skydance. Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid are responsible for overseeing the production for Skydance Television.
