As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must admit, watching Alana Haim’s acting journey unfold is nothing short of captivating. From her Grammy-nominated music career to her critically acclaimed debut in “Licorice Pizza,” she seems to be mastering the art of transformation with grace and panache.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m diving headfirst into the realm of acting, just like Alana Haim from the groovy band Haim. After making my grand entrance on the silver screen with Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Licorice Pizza,” I’m ready to explore this new dimension and see where it takes me!
Haim has lined up two back to back feature gigs involving some bold-faced names.
Haim is currently working on the movie, titled “The Mastermind“, a gripping art heist drama with Josh O’Connor in the lead role and Kelly Reichardt at the helm. Following this project, he will move onto “The Drama“, a film by Kristoffer Borgli from the Dream Scenario production house. Notably, Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are part of this cast as well.
Mastermind takes place during the era of the Vietnam War and the early stages of the feminist movement in the United States.
Neil Kopp, Anish Savjani, and Vincent Savino from Filmscience are serving as producers. Mubi, a worldwide film distributor, production house, and streaming platform, is providing the funding for this drama and will handle its distribution.
The story revolves around a couple, portrayed by Zendaya and Pattinson, who are preparing for their wedding. However, just before their big day, they find themselves in turmoil as shocking truths about each other surface, disrupting what one believed to be true about the other. The narrative explores the concept of love’s blindness, as reported. Borgli is responsible for the script-writing.
Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone from Square Peg will be responsible for creating a new film that will commence filming later in this current month.
Alana Haim, being a member of the band Haim, has garnered two Grammy nominations and made an appearance on Saturday Night Live. She has also achieved success with tracks like “Want You Back” and “Little of Your Love.
She first appeared on screen with the 2021 comedic drama “Pizza”, alongside Cooper Hoffman and directed by Anderson, a musician’s fan who often directed their music videos. Her debut performance garnered positive reviews, earning her a Golden Globe nomination for best actress in the comedy/musical category, as well as BAFTA and Critics Choice nominations. Anderson also chose Haim to star in his upcoming film, currently in post-production and slated for release by Warner Bros. in 2025. The untitled feature stars Leonardo DiCaprio.
Haim is repped by UTA, Entertainment 360, and Hansen Jacobson.
