Alaya F says Bade Miyan Chote Miyan's failure gave her 'clarity' for choosing movies: 'It just changed my perspective…'

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for the nuances of Hollywood-esque Bollywood, I must say Alaya F’s journey is one that resonates deeply. Her resilience and ability to learn from her experiences are truly commendable. The failure of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan may have been a setback for many, but for Alaya, it seems to have served as a catalyst for self-discovery and growth.

In 2020, Alaya F first appeared on screen in the comedy movie “Jawaani Jaaneman.” Since then, she’s worked alongside many well-known Bollywood actors in various films. Recently, she was a part of “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” but it didn’t perform well at the box office. During an interview, she discussed how this film’s poor performance helped her understand which movies to select in the future and even altered her perspective on them.

In the tradition of her mother Pooja Bedi, Alaya F ventured into acting in 2020. Kicking off 2024, she appeared in Ali Abbas Zafar’s film “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan”, which unfortunately didn’t fare well at the box office. Yet, this experience offered her valuable insights that she plans to apply in her future projects. During an interview with Connect Cine, Alaya shared, “This journey also provided me with a clearer understanding of what I aim to achieve moving forward.

Alaya, who appeared in Srikanth alongside Rajkummar Rao, acknowledged that the movie BMCM significantly shifted her viewpoint. Delving deeper into her thoughts, the actress playing Freddy shared that this transformation occurred due to her relentless pursuit of films similar to Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. While chasing after these roles, she lost sight of her true purpose, which was acting. Acting is the reason she entered the industry in the first place, and since her two film releases this year, she’s been working on stepping back and reconsidering all the projects she’s involved with.

For her, it’s equally important to choose projects that evoke the same emotional resonance she felt during the production of her debut film, Jawaani Jaaneman. Now, this is the direction she aims for. Additionally, she admitted that there’s always a sense of letdown when one anticipates their movie will be a massive box office hit. Nevertheless, she gained valuable insights from the experience, both on a personal and professional level.

In addition to Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s main cast of Suniel Shetty and Govinda, the film also featured actors such as Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chhillar, Sonakshi Sinha, and Ronit Roy. This production was jointly overseen by actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani.
