Italian photographer Alessandro Furchino Capria is set to have a solo debut at Saint Laurent Babylone, situated in Paris’ 7th district. Based between Milan and London, Capria has attracted the notice of the fashion industry with his sincere aesthetic, characterized by multiple references, harmonious arrangements, and a natural equilibrium.
Under the guidance of YSL’s creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, the exhibition presents pieces from Capria’s 2020 collection, aptly named “Limehouse Flowers“. In this series, Capria revisits one of his favorite themes. The photographs seek to find significance in urban settings and the essence of photography itself, as each flower is depicted as a vibrant splash of color amidst haze.
As Rive Droite points out, “organic succession” is how the artist meticulously handles his subjects, creating an impression that is both spontaneous and deliberate simultaneously. Through this blooming entrance, Capria achieves more than just portraying fleeting beauty; instead, he invites spectators into a continuous game of play.
The exhibition is now on view through March 16, 2025 in Paris.
