Alex Cooper‘s Unwell Networks is expanding.
Host of the popular podcast “Call Her Daddy“, Cooper, has secured her initial unscripted series on Hulu, titled tentatively as “Overboard for Love“, which promises to be a distinct dating show.
Embark on a voyage aboard an opulent yacht, where attractive singles await to socialize, connect, and potentially find love. However, entry to the yacht’s lavish facilities won’t come easily. As the adventure unfolds, romance blossoms, friendships are forged, and hearts may break. In the end, only one couple will be crowned victorious. Who will rise to the challenge, and who will find themselves adrift?
In August 2023, Cooper initiated The Unwell Network, and secured Alix Earle and Madeline Argy as its initial members. Later on, they also brought Harry Jowsey, Owen Thiele, Hallie Batchelder, and Grace O’Malley onto the team. However, Earle was recently removed from the network.
Cooper expressed immense enthusiasm as he announced the launch of Unwell Productions’ inaugural unscripted series, titled Overboard for Love. In partnership with Hulu, this exciting venture signifies a significant achievement for us. The series aligns perfectly with our mission to produce daring, uncensored content that challenges norms. We’ve crafted a one-of-a-kind dating show, and we can hardly wait for audiences to witness the creative prowess of Unwell Productions.
In her October cover story for The Hollywood Reporter, Cooper expressed her aspirations for Unwell, stating, “I aim to establish this company.” She continued, “It’s astonishing what we’ve accomplished in just a year – from a sold-out tour spanning seven cities to organizing micro events that have united thousands of women and creating the Unwell brand, which allows us to host events without my direct involvement. My ultimate goal is to become the world’s leading content creator.
Apart from Cooper, her husband Matt Kaplan, Mina Lefevre, and others will jointly serve as executive producers for the series, under Unwell. The production team also includes Jeff Jenkins, Russell Jay-Staglik, and Jason Ehrlich from Jeff Jenkins Productions, along with Ross Weintraub and Reinout Oerlemans from 3BMG.
