As a lifestyle expert with a deep understanding of mental health and celebrity dynamics, I must commend Alia Bhatt for her unwavering support towards her sister Shaheen, who bravely battles depression. Her journey underscores the importance of open dialogue and empathy when dealing with mental health issues within our families.
In 2023, Alia Bhatt, who was recently featured in Karan Johar’s film “Rocky Aur Ranii Ki Prem Kahaani,” has a strong relationship with her sibling Shaheen Bhatt. In her recent interview on What Women Talk About, a talk show, Kareena Kapoor Khan asked Alia Bhatt about the support she provided to her sister Shaheen Bhatt during her struggle with depression.
Alia explained that over the years, the way she comforted her sister Shaheen has evolved. The star of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani shared that in the past, she would encourage Shaheen to go out and participate in various activities. However, she eventually understood that addressing Shaheen’s depression wasn’t a simple or immediate solution.
At age 31, the celebrity reminisced about her sister Shaheen receiving a clinical diagnosis for depression. She disclosed that the signs of this condition became apparent in her sister during her younger years.
On the program, Alia expressed, “She’s been dealing with it for a prolonged period, managing and persevering in life. I truly respect her resilience, but now, what I yearn for is simply the chance to converse with her. I don’t demand an immediate response from her. All she needs is to be seated beside me and listen.
