Since actress Alia Bhatt received a diagnosis of ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) and anxiety, she has been open about discussing her mental health. In a recent chat with writer Jay Shetty, Bhatt spoke candidly about her diagnosis and revealed one of her main concerns after receiving the diagnosis was forgetting details concerning her daughter, Raha Kapoor. Additionally, she acknowledged that her body tends to overheat in social situations.
In a recent conversation, Alia Bhatt disclosed that she received a clinical diagnosis of ADHD and anxiety. This diagnosis gave her the understanding that her episodes of anxiety weren’t just occasional, but rather a part of something more profound. She openly discussed how she pursued this diagnosis after encountering physical symptoms like feeling heated in social situations and finding it challenging to concentrate on tasks at hand.
Bhatt confessed that although she used to boast about her ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, she later understood that this habit was causing harm to her, resulting in frequent lapses of memory – even for previously arranged engagements.
Her situation led her to take a comprehensive three-day evaluation by professionals, which ultimately confirmed her diagnoses of ADHD and anxiety. Upon hearing the test results, she felt a sense of relief because understanding her condition allowed her to manage it more effectively.
The actress from Jigra also shared that she chooses not to take medication for her condition, opting instead for active management methods. She emphasized that numerous individuals face similar challenges, especially in social situations, where concerns over appearance and interpersonal interactions are prevalent.
Beyond this, Bhatt revealed that after welcoming her daughter, Raha Kapoor, into the world, her desire for organization grew significantly, as she sought to avoid forgetting any details about her child. She admitted that the responsibilities of parenthood can be daunting, but having a grasp of her diagnosis has aided her in establishing more effective routines in her daily existence.
