As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for both superhero and horror games, I can hardly contain my excitement for this upcoming crossover event – “Aliens vs. Avengers”. The prospect of witnessing Earth’s Mightiest Heroes face off against the terrifying Xenomorphs is nothing short of exhilarating.
Throughout the entire “Alien” saga, it’s clear that Xenomorphs are a danger to anyone they encounter. These creatures embody raw, undiluted fear, which is why the series continues to captivate audiences. In 2024, “Alien: Romulus” brought a fresh, aggressive perspective on the Xenomorphs. However, Marvel Comics intends to push things even further. The legendary creatures are slated to clash with Earth’s strongest superheroes, The Avengers, in an epic crossover event that promises catastrophic results.
In a four-part series penned by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić, titled “Aliens vs. Avengers,” we witness an anticipated clash between fearsome extraterrestrial creatures and Earth’s mightiest heroes. When the Xenomorphs invade our world with destruction in tow, it falls upon the Avengers to unite and thwart their nefarious intentions. However, they must be cautious as they prepare for encounters involving face-hugging and chest-bursting horrors that lie ahead.
The idea of watching the Avengers face off against formidable Xenomorphs should be intriguing to fans of superheroes, science fiction, and horror alike. At the minimum, this tale promises thrilling, intense action. For now, take a look at Looper’s exclusive sneak peek of “Aliens vs. Avengers” #1, which hints at cosmic dread and a dismal future for two of Marvel’s most honorable heroes.
Black Panther teams up with his son in Aliens vs. Avengers #1
In “Predator vs. Black Panther,” we find our hero from Wakanda squaring off against a Yautja, but what about Xenomorphs? If the sneak peek of “Aliens vs. Avengers” #1 is any indication, it could be a difficult fight for him. The pictures depict T’Challa and some Wakandan soldiers entering an abandoned spaceship. However, they won’t stay alone for long – it won’t take long before they discover that the spacecraft isn’t vacant, and their unwelcome guests certainly aren’t friendly.
The preview also reveals that the series takes place in the future as it features T’Challa and Storm’s son, Azari, who thinks that their mission is desperate, albeit necessary. He reminds his father that their people are dying, and this expedition is key to their survival. Of course, this is space, where no one can hear you scream, and the father-and-son pair might become the latest victims of the monstrosities that lurk in the shadows. Plus, the Xenomorphs aren’t the only problem our heroes have to deal with, as the ship hovers above a black hole that slows down time, meaning that hours in space are the equivalent of years on Earth. That isn’t an ideal predicament for superheroes who’ve been tasked with saving the world.
In the upcoming clash between the Wakandan heroes and their extraterrestrial adversaries, as hinted in the “Aliens vs. Avengers” #1 sneak peek, it’s still uncertain how events will play out. But here are some visuals to give you a sense of the action.
What to expect from Aliens vs. Avengers
Looper’s unique sneak peek for “Aliens vs. Avengers” #1 leaves much unexplained, yet it stirs up thought-provoking queries. Previously noted, T’Challa embarking on a perilous journey with his son implies the narrative unfolds further along in the Marvel timeline. Simultaneously, the disclosure that Wakanda is under threat hints at an ongoing war which has already inflicted significant damage on Earth, suggesting that extraterrestrials may have previously attacked.
Concurrently, there could be another event that causes Azari and T’Challa to journey into space, which sets off the Xenomorphs heading towards Earth. This event serves as the catalyst for the story, and the initial glimpse shows a grim scenario for the Wakandan warriors, since the aliens assault them before T’Challa can finish speaking with his son. Given this predicament, viewers may have to consider the likelihood that these two heroes might not survive this ordeal.
So far, we’ve only caught a small part of T’Challa and Azari’s involvement in the plot, but as the story unfolds, more of Earth’s strongest champions will join the battle against the monsters. Here’s crossing our fingers that T’Challa and his son won’t be the first Avengers to meet their end.
The first installment of “Aliens vs. Avengers” penned by Jonathan Hickman, illustrated by Esad Ribic, and colored by Ive Svorcina will hit retail stores and online platforms on Wednesday, August 28th. For additional details about the comic book and where to buy it, check out the Marvel website.
