Alisyn Camerota to Exit CNN, Last Show Set for Sunday Afternoon

As a seasoned gamer of the news world, I must say it’s always bittersweet to see a familiar face depart from the screen. Alisyn Camerota, with her tenure spanning across two major networks, has been a staple in my morning routine for quite some time. Her announcement of leaving CNN comes as a surprise, and yet, I can’t help but feel a sense of understanding given her recent personal loss and the need for a change.

Alisyn Camerota will exit CNN. Her last show will be Sunday afternoon.

Just hours prior to her last broadcast, Camerota shared the news on social platforms. In a concise post, the television host invited followers to watch her farewell at 1:50 p.m. Pacific Time.

Alisyn Camerota hosted CNN’s morning show “New Day” from 2015 to 2021. Since then, she has taken on hosting and co-hosting roles for shows like “CNN Newsroom” with Victor Blackwell and “CNN Tonight” with Jake Tapper and Laura Coates. More recently, she has served as a rotating political commentator for the network and a correspondent for “The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper.

Before joining CNN, Camerota spent 16 years at Fox News in various positions, such as on “Fox & Friends” and “Fox & Friends Weekends”. She is also the writer of the novel “Amanda Wakes Up” and the memoir “Combat Love”.

In September, Camerota shared the news of her husband Tim Lewis’s passing after a 23-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

I’m still finding my way after his passing, as am I with the kids,” I shared on social media then. He was an extraordinary father, husband, companion, and inspiration, and now it falls upon us to strive towards mirroring his virtues. Tim instilled in us great strength and steadfastness, and we are resolute in our efforts to embody those qualities that defined him.
