As a dedicated fan of quality television, I’m thrilled to see Prime Video’s crime drama “Countdown” beefing up its already impressive cast with talented actors like Violett Beane, Uli Latukefu, and Elliot Knight. Their additions to the series are sure to bring depth and complexity to their respective characters.
Prime Video is beefing up the cast for its crime drama Countdown.
Three new actors, Violett Bean, Uli Latukefu, and Elliot Knight, have been added to the show’s roster. The series is overseen by creator Derek Haas, who is also behind “Chicago Fire” and “FBI: International.” Alongside them are Jensen Ackles, Jessica Camacho, and Eric Dane.
In June, the series “Countdown” was commissioned, and it revolves around LAPD officer Mark Meachum (Ackles). Following a daylight murder, he’s assigned to a clandestine unit comprising agents from various law enforcement organizations. As they collaborate to protect their city, a more ominous plot begins to emerge, compelling them to set aside their conflicting priorities.
In this cast announcement, Beane, known for “Death and Other Details” and “God Friended Me,” is set to portray Evan Shepherd, an enthusiastic FBI Academy graduate with a knack for technology, yearning to master the inner workings of a task force. Latukefu, recognized from “Young Rock” and “MaXXXine,” will bring to life Lucas Finau, a seasoned LAPD officer with experience in the Gangs and Narcotics unit. Lastly, Knight, who has acted in “The Boys” and “Life Sentence,” will embody Keyonte Bell, a third-generation FBI agent proficient in recognizing and dealing with terrorist threats.
At Amazon’s MGM Studios and Daniel and Jensen Ackles’ Chaos Machine Production company, they are in charge of creating the television series called “Countdown.” Haas, with an exclusive contract from MGM, serves as both the executive producer and the showrunner for this project.
Beane is represented by the agencies Gersh, Venture, and Goodman Genow. Latukefu is signed with Artists First, RGM Artists, and Sloane Offer. Knight is handled by Artists First and Ziffren Brittenham. (Representation: Agencies handling the career of a person in the entertainment industry)
