Amazon’s Fallout: Kumail Nanjiani Allegedly Cast in the Series

Despite initial concerns from some fans, the television adaptation of Fallout turned out to be a massive hit on Amazon Prime Video.

As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled to share some exciting whispers making the rounds! It seems like the production for Season 2 of Fallout is underway! Though no formal announcements have been made yet, there’s a buzz that a renowned star from Marvel Studios has jumped aboard the cast. Fingers crossed for official confirmation soon!

Kumail Nanjiani Joins Fallout?

Based on reports from The InSneider via @DiscussingFilm, actor Kumail Nanjiani, known for roles in “Silicon Valley” and “Eternals”, has been added to the cast of “Fallout” for its upcoming second season. At this point, it’s unclear who Nanjiani will portray in the series, but given his past projects, we can expect him to be connected with video games or other geek-friendly franchises.

In a recent development, Nanjiani has been chosen to portray a deceptive Jedi imposter in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries. Additionally, he lent his voice to the character of an orc commander in the Shadow of Mordor video game series.

Without a doubt, one of his standout performances was as Dinesh on HBO’s Silicon Valley. Here, he portrayed a small-time programmer who frequently engaged in absurd disputes with colleague Martin Starr’s character, Gilfoyle.

Despite primarily being recognized for his comedic roles, Nanjiani has recently ventured into more dramatic projects. He starred as the lead in the true crime drama “Welcome to Chippendales”; and also took on the lead role in an episode of the revamped “Twilight Zone” series.

In terms of the Fallout series, viewers can rest easy knowing that Nanjiani has the knack for pulling off both humorous and dramatic performances. Given the nature of Fallout, it’s possible that the character he portrays might embody a blend of humor and gravity.

No Shortage of Guest Stars

It’s true that Fallout has done an impressive job of attracting well-known actors, and fans were taken aback when they learned that Fred Armisen, known for his work on SNL, took on the role of a disc jockey in the post-apocalyptic setting.

In addition, the series managed to provide short but impactful appearances for notable character actors such as Matt Berry from “What We Do in the Shadows” and Chris Parnell, who is known for his work on “Rick and Morty” and “Archer”.

Where is Season 2 Going?

In simple terms, the final episode of the first season lays out significant developments for various characters. It’s disclosed that Vault 33 is tied to a vast conspiracy, and this vault connects to another one housing numerous cryogenically frozen individuals—the same wealthy executives who instigated the Nuclear War.

Currently, Lucy and the Ghostly Companion are joining forces in a quest to locate the elusive Hank MacLean and bring him to justice for his misdeeds. By the time we catch sight of Hank, he’s heading towards New Vegas, a place well-known among players for its unique factions and eccentrics.

Regarding Maximus, it seems he’s managed to climb the ladder despite setbacks, suggesting a potential advancement within the Brotherhood of Steel. However, even with this promotion, it appears his ultimate allegiance lies with Lucy. We can expect him to find a means to reunite with her in the second season.

There’s no set launch date yet for Fallout Season 2, but it’s anticipated that the show will be back on our screens around 2026.
