Regarding one of the top-notch psychological thrillers ever created, it’s safe to say that American Psycho is likely the title that springs to mind first. Interestingly, rumors are circulating about an upcoming adaptation of this classic novel.

It’s no surprise that, given the massive popularity of the source material, a new adaptation of the 2000 film “American Psycho” – which made waves as a groundbreaking work by female director Mary Harron – was bound to happen eventually.

It’s unlikely to make a 2025 movie calendar, which might turn out to be a good thing given the number of significant films scheduled for this year. Some highly anticipated movies include “Thunderbolts,” “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” and the second part of “Wicked” titled “Wicked: For Good.” Maybe it would be more advantageous to release the film in the coming years instead.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that, based on recent reports from Deadline, Luca Guadagnino is rumored to be at the helm for the upcoming adaptation of American Psycho. Furthermore, it appears that Scott Z. Burns will be the one to craft the screenplay for this highly anticipated project.

Lionsgate, the studio responsible for the adaptation, expressed their search for a unique perspective on the story, and they believed this director was the right choice to provide it.
