America’s Got Talent’s Richard Goodall Reveals 2 Music Acts He’d Love To Collaborate With After Sharing Stage With Journey

Looking ahead to the upcoming anniversary season of America’s Got Talent in 2025, which is expected to air during springtime, we can’t help but reflect on the remarkable Season 19. In particular, we remember the inspiring journey of Richard Goodall, the 56-year-old singer who was victorious in the competition. Known for his moving rendition of “Don’t Stop Believing” alongside members of Journey, he now dreams of collaborating with more renowned acts as he charts his future career course.

After securing his victory, he’s found himself traversing more frequently and even performing at various locations across the U.S. In a recent interview with TopMob, the “singing janitor” was asked who his ideal collaboration partners would be if given the opportunity. With an enthusiastic response, he shared his dream collaborators.

I’d be thrilled to team up with someone akin to Michael Bublé or Foreigner, whose music is simply fantastic. However, as previously mentioned, I’m incredibly joyful about the possibility of collaborating with anyone who shares this passion for creation. For me, it’s an incredible privilege to step onto that stage and earn a living while also touching people’s lives in a positive way. So, if you’re open to working together, I most certainly am!

Isn’t this an excellent selection? Foreigner seems like a reliable choice given Richard Goodall’s musical style on the show. Michael Bublé, however, comes as a surprising yet brilliant choice. Since Bublé is set to coach for the second season of The Voice, a competing series on NBC, it could be intriguing if they collaborate in some way, perhaps through a cross-show collaboration?

After Goodall discussed with us his sudden fame following his win on America’s Got Talent, he shared that as the oldest winner yet, he is frequently stopped “every 10 feet” at Walmart by fans who were touched by his season. When Goodall chose to audition for America’s Got Talent, he had never flown in a plane before. Reflecting on performing alongside Journey, he expressed pure joy and delight over the experience.

It seems as though people have a list of experiences they aspire to accomplish before their time is up, often referred to as a “bucket list.” In this case, the desired experience was hidden and unknown – like something stored on a high shelf. So, my question is, how could an ordinary person from Indiana ever hope to share a stage with Journey for a performance?

The entire event exceeded the expectations of this Hoosier beyond belief. Goodall was selected as one of Heidi Klum’s golden buzzer choices in Season 19, and subsequently won the competition by captivating not just America, but audiences worldwide. After performing the Journey classic during his audition, he completed a full circle by singing it again for the finale alongside members of Journey. You can watch it here below:

What a run on AGT! Goodall shared this update on where he’s taking his music career:

In any free time not spent on traveling, I’m engaging with a talented local band here, making music that sounds great. Additionally, I’m actively involved in various tasks, ensuring I don’t idle, maintaining my vocal abilities, and giving my best performance possible.

Goodall is currently composing original music and collaborating with a local band for his own performances. Regarding Season 20 of the show, he anticipates that there will be even more unexpectedly gifted individuals without entertainment careers to shine. In the meantime, you can rewatch Season 19 on AGT with a Peacock subscription.
