Earlier this week on Monday, March 3, a trailer for Abhishek Bachchan’s upcoming movie titled Be Happy was unveiled. Directed by the acclaimed choreographer and filmmaker Remo D’Souza, this dance-drama will bypass traditional theaters and instead make its debut directly on Prime Video streaming platform on March 14, as a digital release only. Amitabh Bachchan expressed his admiration for Abhishek on social media, referring to him as “a father’s pride” (Pita ka garv) and acknowledging his exceptional performance in the film, stating that he has portrayed each character consistently across multiple films.
Abhishek Bachchan’s legendary father, Amitabh Bachchan, has consistently been supportive of his son. He has expressed appreciation for the trailer of Be Happy, as well. When a fan of Abhishek shared the trailer on their platform (formerly Twitter), Amitabh re-shared it and wrote in one tweet, “A father’s pride, how easily a guardian can change into another guardian. Congratulations and best wishes.
In a different post, he commended Abhishek, saying, “What an enchanting tale! And what a fantastic job you’ve done in shaping each character across various films. Here’s to wishing you continued success, blessings, and affection!
The film ‘Be Happy’ is a blend of dance and drama, telling the story of a dedicated single parent and his precocious daughter. When their worlds intersect – her ambition to compete in the nation’s premier dance reality show with a personal crisis that arises – the father finds himself pushed to take unprecedented actions, revealing the depths he will go to grant her dreams and discover true happiness.
Abhishek Bachchan assumes the character of Shiva, a devoted single father, within the movie. Meanwhile, newcomer Inayat Verma depicts his daughter, Dhara. Both actors have worked together before, in the dark comedy crime drama Ludo, which was exclusively distributed online. The film premiered on Netflix as a unique Diwali release in 2020.
Regarding the film, the actor from Delhi-6 expressed that playing Shiv was an emotional ride for him, since the character is a father fighting both time and destiny to make his daughter’s dream come true. He emphasized that Be Happy is not just a movie; rather, it powerfully illustrates resilience, demonstrating the necessity of pushing forward even in the face of life’s hardest trials—much like dance itself requires persistence.
In addition to the lead actor, the Prime Video film features Nora Fatehi, Nassar, Johny Lever, and Harleen Sethi in significant roles. The production company for this movie is Remo D’Souza Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., and it was written by Remo D’Souza, Tushar Hiranandani, Kanishka Deo, and Chirag Garg.
